Hi guys

Sorry I've been MIA recently - work has been all consuming so not a minute to myself to come check on the June filers... Glad to see so many Congratulations are in order :D

I did my Oath this morning - the ceremony was fun (all the waiting around was not why do they make you be on the other side of the city at 7am if they know it won't start until 10am - but I didn't mind the wait too much - last time waiting for USCIS :dancing: ) I think they said 1600+ people from 112 countries. There was a special offer to apply for the passport in the next 2 days at particular times at the downtown office, and they'll process it within 5 days, so I think I'll do that, first have to get a couple of color copies of the precious certificate.

Still strange to me that the end stage has been the fastest and least painless on this journey (though I suppose it makes sense), but I'm still pinching myself to make sure it's real that I'm a USC now :D

[i see that the oath ceremony usually starts at 11AM, and you mentioned you were done in 1.5 hrs, so were you out by 12.30PM? I'm trying to see if I can take a couple hours from work to attent the ceremony.

Give it 3 hours from your arrival to 1600 Callowhill to your being able to leave the premices - to be on the safe side, you never know how many ppl are getting naturalized and if there any delays!

PRK73 - name change issue, I'm no expert on this, but on this if its still an issue, you should ask in the main forum and/or PM a member like LucyRich who can give you the letter of the law, I don't understand why your wife would not be able to change her name to Barrack Obama (for example!) if she wanted to, unless there is a limited extent of power that either in enforced on that specific DO or USCIS generally. I would think its a reasonably common thing to take the husband's full name, so that make me wonder if its a DO thing. Some DOs can't do name changes at all for example...

PhillyDude411 - I saw no change in online case status at all through the process, mine is stuck on initial application, even though the process is now complete I think your OL will arrive soon, I would just compare to the timelines of the filers in your DO.

Finally got my oath letter today....set for Oct 26th....guess the only thing I'm worried about is that I never received my GC from the removal of conditions application. Guess theres not much I can do now anyway, but I am going to USCIS tomorrow to try and get my I-551 stamp renewed. Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? Anyone know someone in the same situation? Would really appreciate any help.

Congrats on your oath notice. As for your concern about not having a GC, you should be ok at the oath. They ask for the GC from people coz they don't need them anymore and might land on the wrong hands. My guess is they actually shred them. Let us know what the officers say 2morrow.
