All Done! 176 people from 46 countries were naturalized in the 1st ceremony today. Hopefully Red Diablo found a place to park, as it was crowded with a long line of people waiting at 7.20am, but the ceremony was all completed before 9am.

Since then I have been to SS Office, completed my voters registration and sent my passport application on its way.

Congratulations On Becoming first Official USC from June Filers

ooh ah you are a organised sheila indeed.

glad all went well Jayde thxs for starting our june thread , karma made u our first

now heres the cynic in me 175 approx x how much we spent on the first visa , conditions and then the naturalisation

2000 is a approx figure with the bios included so today we had 2 ceremonies with 350 peoples

oops that makes 700,000 dollars and the make us line up in a hot smoggy car park.

ok now you know my true feelings

I just like to part of the system but am no flag flyer

like to think for myself aka life of brian

was glad to see my wife just made it in to ceremony we are back in naples fl thanks to zeus for that

went to hilton don shulas steak house for a nice nose bag

lovely food and fine glass of merlot.

so now they get another 100 bucks for pp will NOT register on voter list

due to fact having my own small business and I CANNOT afford to be stuck on jury duty down here in republican alley.

now they do not even give u lunch on jury duty due to cost cutting.

should cut the lawyers fees imho

anyhow thats it will get pp soon as poss.

as regards ssn thats no rush eh

all the besties red d

Congratulations Red Diablo :)

Don't know how it is in FL, but in TX they use DLs to determine citizens/non-citizens to call for jury duty - if you update your details be aware... but hey isn't it good to have the responsibility now :P

Thanks KBF for posting your traffic violations info/experience. I just happened to have mentioned it so I think I am stuck gathering all the info.

Roosh

Roosh,

They dont know unless you tell em..be prepared for anything..but dont give them or tell them anything unless I/O specifically ask for it...she asked me for lease and i told her, that i dont have. she said i need to verify the address, i gave her the IRS Letter showing my name and address and she was totally fine with it.

Thanks everybody and Best of luck to those who havent had their interview yet...i will be updating my time as i haven't got my oath letter yet!!

Yeeeah!     I passed the test and was recommended for approval! So here is the short story long..

My husband and I arrived to Philly an hour ahead of my scheduled time, because you never know with the traffic and rain. We found some street parking and decided to sit and wait in the car for some time. 20 minutes before my appointment we headed towards the building. Went through security check, got to the third floor and began waiting.

We noticed that officers were coming out and calling names. I said to my husband: "Do you want to bet that whoever is calling my name is going to mispronounce it?" I have a Polish last name due to my husband's heritage and nobody says it right here in the States. Ha! And of course the officer that called my name, got it right! He was a young, pleasant guy..we made a small talk about my bet about the pronunciation and meaning of my last name (means beer in Polish)..then he asked me how tall I was...I'm 5'11 and was wearing high heels. He was curious if I played any sports because of my height, I told him that no and that my dad used to be a professional basketball player.

:ot2: Then he sworn me in...went over my application and asked if I was ready to take my test.

1. What is the name of the national anthem?

2. How old do citizens have to be to vote for President?

3. What is the "rule of the law"?

4. What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States?

5. Why does flag have 13 stripes?

6. What major event happened on September 11, 2001 in the United States?

I was asked to read: "How many Senators do we have"? And I wrote the answer: "We have one hundred Senators."

He congratulated me and gave me this form that states that I passed the test and was recommended for approval. Officer gave me the "standard" you will receive your oath letter within 4 to 6 weeks. I asked if he knew any specifics and he said that the oath will most likely happen until the end of the year and will take place in the same building as my interview.

He asked if we were going to stick around in the city and celebrate, and I told him about the place that I picked for our late lunch celebration, he approved my choice and said that they have good food! And food was good indeed - with some great margaritas to celebrate!!

Thanks guys!

The IO asked to see only my driver's license, passport and green card. At the end of the interview he went through my file again to make sure that they had everything.

My husband was just waiting for me in the waiting area. I applied based on 3 year marriage rule.

I saw a guy going to his interview with just his passport and I assume his driving license and his green card...but I am a firm believer that it is better to be over-prepared rather than not have that piece of paper that will be in the way of getting approved..
