FP Walk-in done today! Got there at 10:20AM and was back on the road at 10:45AM. By the way I forgot to bring my GC, but luckily they were able to get my information otherwise they would have sent me back.

CColdwell and Mohsin,

I am eagerly waiting for your feedback on how your FP goes at Elizabeth AOS tomorrow. Please try to find out if they allow the walk-ins or not and if they do what are the good days for them?

From the FP notice they sent me it sounded like they are taking walk-ins on Wednesdays and Saturdays but only with prior approval from them.

Congratulations on your FP walk-in.

It sounds like you did your FP walk-in about 2 weeks in advance right?

Did they ask for the reason why you were doing so? I am asking just so I know whether I should bring any itenary with me or not when I try to do it in NJ.

My FP letter didn't had any thing about walk in, but I tried an it worked. They only thing I made sure was I appeared on the same day / Time of the week as per my schedule but 2 weeks early.

As I have read some where that some centers only do FP during certin days of the week.

On an other note while I was wait to be called. I notice an other dude trying to do the Walk-in FP he was refused and I think following were the reason

1- He was supposed to go to counter 11 ( In Seattle DO) , Lady on counter 11 has to step away for few seconds and instead of waiting for her he went to counter # 3. and the lady at Counter # 3 asked him to re-schedule ( I believe she was not aware of walk in as she was not dealing the FP cases)

2- He was not dressed properly, I recommend you should be in the formal office dress ( not need for the suit)

Thanks Kashif and wannabe_texan.

I will keep those things in mind....

Yeah it only mentions Wednesdays and Saturdays for rescheduling options...Nothing about walk-ins...

I guess the only reason why they may be allowing walk-ins at some locations is purely based on how busy they are on that day...But broadly speaking, they wouldn't want people to just show up there...Otherwise the whole purpose of giving out different dates to different people is defeated...So I will give it a try but will be prepared to go again on the scheduled date and time if it doesn't work out.

- These support centers are nice and very friendly, atleast in philadelphia, as I mentioned I didn't even bring my GC and they went thru the trouble of finding my information from the back office.

- No questions asked for walk-in.

- No specific days, but all centers might not allow this

- No dress code required, I woke up and went there in my shorts and t-shirt without even taking a shower.

Hey Phillydude!

I think you were getting your fingerprints taken at the same time with me (across from me behind a little divider wall). You were wearing a polo shirt and had a small talk with the rep about taking your fingerprints only 3 months ago, and she told you they won't be able to retrieve those? I thought of asking if you were registered on visajourney.. :content: How funny is that!

I got my fingerprints taken today, too...was out of the ASC at 10:44 AM...the whole process took 10-14 mins. The center is nice and clean, and I was surprised to see absolutely no waiting lines...I was taken right in!

Now with the Phillydude we will be able to determine if doing the walk-in speeds up the rest of the process!

I posted this in another section but just to highlight it here in the June filers section- the local office sent us notification that my husband is not eligible for naturalization til Sept 26, 2009!!! And they cashed our check!! We just got this notice Friday late in the afternoon so I guess I'll have to wait til Monday to straighten it out. Someone please talk me down: green card dated September 26, 2006, married for more than 3 years, continuous residency since green card date, filed for naturalization 90 days prior to Sept 26 which was June 28- they rec'd it apparently on July 2. HELP!!

Naturalization:

6/28/09: Mail N-400 to Texas

7/6/09: NOA1

7/24/09: Biometrics

10/08/09: Interview

11/21/09: Receive oath date

01/22/10: Oath Date

Fingerprinting done!  :thumbs:

My experience: I got there really early. My appt was at 8AM, but I was there at 7:15, and there was already 3-4 people ahead of me. By the time 7:30 came around, there was about 10 people behind me. So definitely get there early. We were ushered in at around 7:50 I believe. The guard gave me paperwork to fill out, and once you fill it out you go to the receptionist, so needless to say I filled mine out quickly (had all the info handy and ready to go), and got to the acutal biometrics waiting area :) So I basically skipped all the people who were ahead of me because they were still filling out their forms! haha. I  was out by 8:20AM

The actual fingerprinting itself was relatively painless, although I was tense and the person scanning my fingerprints kept telling me to relax, but of course this only got me more tense. My fingerprints seemed to pass within the 55-65% range. I hope this is going to be ok? :blink: He seemed satisfied by them though, so fingers crossed!

Has anyone else had experience with fingerprints failing and if so what was the timeline you found out they failed? I hope everything works out for me though  :unsure:

@roosh, As for the walk-in policy, I was looking at the receptionist's desk and I saw a post-it note saying "No walk-ins for I-90" I believe it was. I do know of people on other forums that walked in at Elizabeth, so it's worth a shot I think.
