Hi on DS 230

In what occupation do you intend to work in US?

My personal answer is I dont know, so what do I answer. Unknown

Is it OK to answer UNKNOWN

or I can put Cook or Hairdresser since that`s what my mom is doing in her country but I don`t know if this some how can be a problem since they have different certificates here for this occupation.

There is no right or wrong answer - "Unknown" is a possible answer.

Just an FYI - A persons occupation doesn't have to be a specific job nor does that person have to expect to work in that field. For example - Hairdresser/Beautician is an occupation.

My husband wrote Customer Service, since that is what he does back home in his country.

You can also write- "Not Decided"... But my husband wrote "IT professional" ... Didn't have any problems...

i wrote unknown, it might be better because you have two different occupations
