My husband file a K3/K4 petition last July 2007 we assumed that the processing will only take about 9-12 months according to the US Embassy website, but until now as i checked the status online my petition is still "case received and pending" why? what took them so long? please help me what to do. im missing my husband so much!!

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

My suggestion would be to contact your local congressional office and ask them to inquire abouit your petitions. They have a direct contact at the USCIS. The operators at the USCIS are scripted. They have no information at all. Also, put in a service request at the USCIS. The processing times are posted on the USCIS website. It may not speed up the processing but you can at least get some answers as to why they are taking so long. It may attract attention to your petitions and they may start to process them due to your inquiry. WHO KNOWS !!! GOOD LUCK !!!

agreed with both posts.

First you can call (the USC) and request an expedite based on he fact that you are so far outside normal processing times.

Then ask you congressman to make a formal inquiry and expedite request.

Was the petitioner an LPR and then became a USC or something? anything?

Im sorry this has taken so long and that you guys are going through this.

Good luck and keep us posted, VJ is a good place to find support and info.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
