What help do you need? We were a CR-1 visa but maybe we can help with some thing

Is there anything specific to Peru that they may be looking for? When I have read some of the other posts, they have talked about certain countries wanting additional information or specifically looking for certain types of proof.

Also by the time I file, we will only have met in person 2 times (which I do have photos), but we e-mail everday, sometimes several times, phone calls, online chats. Will that be sufficient for the requirement of having met? Will that be enough to be considered an actual relationship.

Thanks for offering to help. I just want to make sure everything is right.

Well #1, Read the K-1 Visa guide. Everything you'll need to file it is spelled out in the guide which is a great help. Make sure you double check that you have everything because I was missing one question and had to resubmit some information. (RFE - request for information).

Once you file, you will recieve a notice stating that they are processing your application (it's called a NOA - notice of action). Then, a few months later (it varies in different cases), you will receive another NOA stating that they have approved your case. Once this happens, your case will be sent to the National Visa Center and then they will in turn, forward your case to the US Embassy in Lima. This is where you will need to compile various documents and your fiancee will have to fill some forms out and have a medical examination done in Lima.

They will need 3 different police certificates, a birth certificate (certified by the RENIEC if your fiancee was not born in Lima) as well as any divorce certificates if there were any. They will have the initial photos and proof that you send in with your initial application. They may ask you questions about these photos. I sent in the e-mails as well with chat logs from MSN and my cell phone and vonage bills. They didn't really seem too interested in this.

The proof of meeting I sent in was photos of my trips to Peru, my airplane tickets from online, my boarding passes and some receipts from stores in Peru where I purchased things with my credit card.

If you need any more detailed info, you can message me at any time with any questions!

Good Luck! Buena Suerte!

Suzy

I have not found any thing that was really specific to Peru. Like was stated check and double check every thing. Make copines of every thing. As for the police reports you have to get them in Lima and it takes a few days. You dont have to have the police reports translated as was told to me by the Immigration officer during the interview.

I just recently finished the process for the k-1 visa. My fiance had her interview last week and i had sent in all the documents to vermont service center back in december so its a pretty quick process. I also received an RFE because i didnt put NO on the question regarding whether I had committed a crime or not, since it seemed to be linked to military experience which I have none. I would recommend taking your time to fill out all the paperwork properly and search the site for most of the information and when in doubt just post a topic or pm a member to ask specific questions. My process was pretty simple and easy. For proof of relationship I only sent in like 5 pictures with the 129f and the receipt for the engagement ring. Also, at the interview all my fiance took besides the necessary paperwork was 15 pictures of the various trips I've made to see her. Before I submitted the application I had been down to peru about 4 times to see her, then after submitting the application I only went one more time and everything turned out all right. Well if you have any specific questions feel free to pm me and I'll be more than glad to help you will find out that everyone is here to help out each other and lend any type of information they might have on the process. Good luck and just be patient.
