Hi Everyone! My name is Megan and I first of all want to say that we sent our I-129F out TODAY! yay!! :)

I have a few questions here..

1) My fiance is a citizen of the Philippines...but hes living in Aruba. We met while I was vacationing there.. he was on a work visa, which has since expired. Aruba did not renew his permit.. which he is now appealing.. We know he will have to go back to the Philippines to do the interview, but on our I-129F paperwork we just put his Aruba address.. will this be a problem?

Also, When the I-129F gets approved, I, the petitioner, will be notified with the NOA2, right? Then what happens? I know there is alot of paperwork we could be getting ready in the mean time if someone could point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it!

One more thing :) Can he, while still in Aruba, set up the interview date and all that in the Phillipines eventhough hes not there yet? The thing is, once he leaves Aruba, he wont be able to go back, because his permit is no longer valid. He's lived there for 12 years, and all of his friends are there so he is trying to stay as long as possible... This is my first time doing any of this, and I see how much help everyone is to eachother. Just reading posts makes me feel so much more at ease with this lonnng process! Thank you everyone in advance!

What did you answer for question 20?

You will be notified of almost everything - :)

:guides: above will answer your questions.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

If you read under that question:

NOTE: (Designation of a U.S. embassy or consulate outside the country of your fiancé(e)'s last residence does not guarantee acceptance for processing by that foreign post. Acceptance is at the discretion of the designated embassy or consulate.)

So it's really up to USCIS where they send it - you may want to contact them to let them know of your issues, and perhaps they can change it.

Why can't he go back to the P.I.?

He can go back to the Philippines... and he will...we just were hoping we could do most of the work while hes still in Aruba, and then he can go to the Philippines for the interview. But the police paperwork will have to be from Aruba Police, right? Since thats where he resided for the past 10+ years?

He'll need a police certificate from every country he's lived in for at least 6 months since he was 16 years old.

This page on the web site of the US Embassy in Manila explains what you need to do, and what documents you need to have:
