I sent my 129F on the 20th of May to California (CSC). Check cashed and NOA1 Notice Date on the 22nd of May. Received the formal NOA1 (I-797C) letter today in the mailbox. Now it's time sit back and wait for either the NOA2 or, an RFE (knock on wood). As a May filer of course I'm hoping for the NOA2 about September but that's a guesstimate on my part and it could take forever and day for all I know.

It will be a long summer but since I am located in Seattle and she is in Vancouver, we can still visit each other. She works/lives in Vancouver BC but is a citizen of the Philippines so I'm hoping the process for her will be somewhat smoother at the Vancouver Consulate than if she were going through Manila. One reason for my optimism is that it was a somewhat painless for the 10 year Visitors Visa she received last year at the Vancouver Consulate. Everything had to be in order for that Visa but no drama in dealing with the Consulate there.

first step - congrats!

good thing with the visitors visa - will make the waiting less hectic.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Your timeline is much faster than mine. Looks like things are moving faster now. That's good. Good luck! to all of us!
