if he has a hunting license and friends that are willing to help him mount something on his wheel chair to make hunting possible why cant he just use one of his friends guns why does this have to turn in to a circus?

Because either he, or some organization are trying to turn this into a referrendum on gun rights.

as i have stated before on some of these threads i and my family are avid hunters own rifles and some hand guns, i feel that we should never have that right taken away from us to own them but i dont believe that this case in anyway shape or form has anything to do with the right to purchase a gun.

if its just for hunting as i said he could borrow one,

if it is used for self protection is not even a possibility unless he has the time to have someone fix it up and put him in his chair and aim at the intruder. and if thats the case i guess he would be the first paralyzed man to go to prison for murder.

that much time spent on setting up the gun to protect him from the intruder would mean enough time was available to stop that intruder some other way.

then also the thought of how he could make sure that the gun never ended up in a child's hands or criminals when he can not fend for himself comes into play because as a gun owner it is my responsibility to ensure that proper security has been put into place to protect any child and to keep my guns away from a criminal. with all of that if a criminal ends up stealing my gun after he or she kills me to get to it i have done the best that was possible.

what can this man do ensure the gun is kept out of the way of a child, or locked up so that a criminal could not get a hold of it?

if he wants it as a trophy of some kind to state yes my rights as a USA citizen have been preserved, dont make a big circus out of it purchase one from his friend.

thats just my own opinion
