Chelsey and cdneh, thank you for your replies. Sounds like we are getting close to being processed. I will keep track with you guys . mY last touch was on Aug 3.

I want to get my driver's licence and my state, indiana, will only accept gc.

Thanks for that..I will keep an eye on your progress! Out AOS hasn't been touched since the biometrics back July 30th. Surely to goodness someone will look at us soon

Subguy looks at cdneh... Seriously, I hope they look at your file soon and your process is finished at break neck speed

It's just the luck of the draw - we're waiting too since a transfer on 7/23. You can fill out the timeline by clicking on "Immigration Timelines" at the top and then "Edit / Add my entry". Welcome to Visa Journey!

Hello All! I feel off the face of the earth for a bit. I have been trying to pop in and see what is going on but I am a tad out of the loop. I think checking the spread sheet should help. I hope that those of you still waiting hear soon. This week is symbolic for the beginning of hard work. I hope this applies to USCIS....summer is over!

Our update is this: We have relocated to NYC. I took a teaching job and quit the job with in two weeks. The principal was crazy and under paying the teachers. Through teacher friends I have found several other positions. I am hoping to start a job at a elementary school this week but there is a hold up at Human Resources because the public school system in NYC is under a hiring freeze. If this doesn't work out I have a few other leads. Balvino is starting a English class at Hunter College today and looking for work. So much happened in a matter of weeks that I had to cut myself off from VJ. Things are slowing down a bit now.

Good Luck to all. Off to check out the spread sheet

Wow, you have been busy. How's Balvino handling the big city? Maybe taxis and walking will be more like home to him - Josue was used to that in Guatemala but here it's rare to see anybody walking and you always have to call for a taxi, they are not in the streets easy to catch.

We still haven't heard anything since the EAD and AP were approved...waiting for GC approval. Hope the RFE didn't mess us up too much!!!

Congrats honeybear1!

Good afternoon everyone~

I just returned from my interview at Newark USCIS office in New Jersey.

I was so nervous for the past couple of days and dreading that I would face a tough and obnoxious interviewer.

Luckily, I was assigned to a courteous and professional IO and feel ultra relieved now.

She greeted us at the waiting room and walked over to her cubicle/room. She made us do the oath and began with basic questions like name, address, DOB, passports. Then she asked most of the yes/no questions, we all chuckled when I said “Am I crazy?” when she asked if I would marry with multiple partners.

She started to go through my file and told me that she is very impressed with the organization in my file – I had cover letters for each sections and lablled each items with exhibit numbers for easy referencing.

Her questions were very simple and did not even sound like questions because she was sometimes reading items in our file out and asking us to confirm or fill in the blanks. So I advise everyone to go through your file once more before the interview. We didn't even have to pull out our photo album. Only one trick question was when she asked if my great grandfather was my father while she was reviewing the family register. I almost said yes but realized that he was my great grandfather.

Then we talked about our upcoming wedding and reception and her daughter’s wedding that was held nearby our reception hall. Ever since this moment, our conversation turned super friendly and we were talking about our vacation plans and she was showing the pictures of her daughters. She approved our case after 10 minutes and we spent next five minutes chatting about other stuff. She did a great job making us feel comfortable and we would rate her 10 out of 10. I mean how many times do you meet a USCIS officer telling you "It was a great pleasure meeting with you two and good luck" with a genuine smile at the end of a meeting???

Congratulations to everyone whose cases have been approved and best of luck to pending ones (especially I hope USCIS straighten things out with LeoFeng’s case sooner than later). Thank you Davechel and Winfred for being our AOS June 2009 class coordinators. Hope to see all of you back here in June 2011!

Congratulations, Mon Ami! My DIL's was approved also this morning in Jacksonville. It was a short sweet interview and the only documents asked for were their IDs. When asked if she's ever lied to a customs official she said "not yet"! They did show the officer some photos. Getting a report from my son is always like pulling teeth. They said no to delaying the green card issue until their second anniversary and no to giving her orginal Thai birth certificate back. It was in the packet from the embassy. She had a photocopy to give them, but they said they couldn't remove anything from that file. No more USCIS until one year and nine months! For those waiting I wish you success.

As of:

June 26, 2012 - The Hubbs received his 10-year Permanent Residency Card (aka THE Greencard) in the mail today!

At long last, this highly stressful leg of our journey has come to a close - for now - and we couldn't be more grateful and appreciative for all the tremendous help and support here on VJ! Without VisaJourney I doubt we would be where my husband and I are today! Thanks to all!

Hi everybody

We had our interview today at the Dallas office in Irving and we got approved....Thank God.

I was really nervous about this whole thing but i tried to take as much evidence as i could find. Babe was so calm the whole time but i wasn't.

Anyways, this is how everything went down.

I couldn't sleep well so i was up by 6.00am. Our interview was scheduled for 9.00am and since we leave about 30min from the place, i figured leaving an hour earlier would be best. Not a good idea. The morning traffic on I-35 was insane, it was raining, so it took us a little over an hour to get there. I couldn't hold my nerves in the car....i kept going off for stupid reasons but like i said, babe was so calm.

We get there and the whole place is full of people. They have 2 lobbies, upstairs and downstairs so after the security check, we were sent upstairs. We turned in our interview letter and were handed one of those buzzers.

We waited for about 50 mins before our buzzer went off. Meanwhile, the whole time we were waiting, babe was complaining of hunger.....we didn't have breakfast coz i can't eat when im nervous and he didn't want to eat by himself. To calm my nerves, i decided to start small talk with the guy next to me....his story wasn't a good one. He told me that he had been there since 7.30am, he had been separated from his wife, and his wife was being interviewed. Theirs must have been one of those Stoke interviews that i read about. He was 39 and the wife was 26 and i guess the IO was suspicious of something. His wife came out, they took the husband in and i don't know what happened next. The wife tried to come and sit next to us but some lady stopped her....little did i know that this lady would be out interviewer.

Back to me. We got called in at about 9.50am, the IO was an older lady of about 40 something years old. She swore us in, asked for our marriage certificate, passport, Birth Certificate and IDs. She complimented my passport holder...it was pink...so i told her she can get one from Victoria's Secret....she laughed. While babe was getting everything, she asked us how we met. Babe answered that....i was still nervous so babe held my hand the whole time. She asked what places we had traveled together. We love to travel so babe had a long list of places, i kept reminding him of some places he had left out. We took a photo album so she spent sometime looking at the pics. She then asked babe if he had met my parents and it they where happy about our marriage? She then asked for things that proved we lived together.....i had put together so much stuff so she was kinda overwhelmed by the paper work. We had Joint Credit Card statements, Joint Bank Statements, Family plan phone bill, Car Insurance, affidavit from a friend, plane tickets, Electric bill. She said we had way too much info and she added that its good coz it shows your relationship is real but it may also slow down your process because they have to go through so much paper work. I didn't tell her this but i think the more the better.

She asked me what i was studying, when i told her Electrical Engineering, she was like...woow, i guess she couldn't pass her Calculus...lol She asked babe also and he told her IT. Then she started confirming the info on the I-130 and I-485, took my I-94, told me we had been approved and the whole removing conditions after.

That was it. The whole interview took about 20min and we were out by 10.20am. She also complimented my bag while she walked us out but she didn't give us any approval letter or stamps in my passport.

Thanks to everyone on VJ for the support you gave me and Good luck to everyone who is still waiting for approvals.

PS: Sorry for the long post.
