Your application seems to be taking longer than I expected Chelsea, especially when just about everyone that got transferred to CSC is done.

Do you think that RFE really sloweeeeeed things down for you?

My green card arrived in the mail yesterday!

A nice touch was that it came with a little protective material pocket envelope, on which they wrote "we recommend you use this envelope to protect your new card". How nice and thoughtful of them! :) I am surely going to keep my card safely stashed at home, even though they say you're supposed to carry it around with you at all times.

In other exciting news - we booked our tickets to visit Bulgaria for Christmas (and spend a few days in Rome too). First time in 6 years I'll see my fam! We're super stoked!

There's a certain hassle we have to deal with in connection with traveling with a passport that still only shows my maiden name, whereas the tickets and green card show my married name. We had to order extra copies of the marriage cert and get it apostilled at the Secretary of State - this cost around $80 total. Hopefully we won't have trouble in Europe. Once in Bulgaria, I have to embark on a most convoluted process of changing my name and getting a new passport - it involves about 6 different governmental agencies I have to go through. But it's worth it!

Best of luck to everyone and see you all in 2 years. God bless!

Wow! Now you relax for awhile. Great to know GC is on hand! Seeing how painful it is to resolve that bureaucratic issue with your passport, I'm confident you'll be the first one to apply for US citizenship when you are eligible :)

Thanks, Leo. Hope you get a speedy resolution too! Funny that you should say that about citizenship - I already looked at the naturalization application just to get an idea of what's to come. :) It's a good idea to keep a record of all dates that we enter and leave the US, as we'll have to list everything by date on that application.

Seems like a lot of June filers are almost through the process. I am still waiting on an interview date.

Got my ss# this past Monday, so I am going to the DMV next Tuesday or so for my learner's permit.

You guys are great by the way. :)

We need to go get the revised SS card without the Employment statement on it. Good Luck with the learner's permit... Alexandra is dealing with studying for the test.

Not necessarily faster but more than likely without the interview stress

Chelsey and cdneh, thank you for your replies. Sounds like we are getting close to being processed. I will keep track with you guys . mY last touch was on Aug 3.

I want to get my driver's licence and my state, indiana, will only accept gc.

The Lord is my strength and my shield,

My heart trusted in Him and I am helped,

therefore my heart greatly rejoices,

and with my song I will praise Him.
