I am writing from Ukraine as I am visiting here with my family.

Congratulations to everyone getting their GCs, that's awesome news! And thanks for sharing your stories with us!

As to me, nothing new here, still no interview letter (I have people check our mail in the U.S.) Have NO idea what's going on and am tired of stressing out about it... Not I am the "Forgotten One"

Just try and enjoy your time at home and don't stress about it.You'll have time to deal with this once you come back.Hopefully you'll get the interview letter while having a good time at home with your family!Have fun at home!!

I have a couple of questions

1) I already have a SS card but it has restrictions ( DHS authorization needed). Now that I have the EAD, am I able to change my SSC or I need to wait for the GC to do that?

2) I am a full time international student. It was the only way to maintain status until waiting for my husband's citizenship and then waiting to get married and file for AOS. Now I want to drop school, do you think I should wait until after the interview? Do you think that dropping school before the interview may affect my application...do I fall out of status or it's OK given that my AOS is pending?

You have to wait for GC to remove conditions on SS.

I'd suggest you wait for interview then greencard before dropping off school.

1) You remove the annoying wording of the SS you will need to wait to have the GC on hand.

2) I'd wait until AFTER AOS has been approved. Have positive thoughts but also consider the worst: If your AOS is denied you can fall back on your student visa to prevent removal proceedings. However, if you drop school then you are in violation of your visa.

Wow! This morning I got an email from CRIS saying that on 08/29/09 my EAD card production was ordered. I cannot believe it.

They've only had the application since 08/21!

I mailed my application along with 2 passport pictures, a color copy of the my I-485 NOA1 (to get the fee waived).

Everything went to the TEXAS SERVICE CENTER. They have a 3 month backlog processing EADs so I'm really falling out of my chair...

I am in the same situation as you.

I talked to my advisor at school and she gave me 2 options

1) Keep your international status and register full time for the fall semester so that when the interview does not go well, or u don't get approved for some reason, then you will have the F1 visa to fall back on.

2) Drop your F1 status and register part time, or don't register at all, and pray that everything goes well and you get your GC.

I decided to go with 2 and just pray that all goes well at my interview. Also some people say that once you send in your AOS paperwork, then your nolonger F1. You are actually pending permanent resident.

I am doing part time while working......either way, i didn't have the money to pay for full time since my parents won't be funding my Graduate School Anymore.

GC production ordered..had an interview August 27,2009 but they didnt approve it right away coz for further review but they approved it the next day August 28 and GC production ordered.i will sleep good tonight....again thank you so much VJ...
