GC HOLDERS: Whatever happens next and whatever leads you down your path... make the best of that GC. Don't waste it. Never forget who you were before it. A GC is a ticket to the wildest, happiest, most promising life anyone could ever live. Jump in and enjoy, just promise yourself that between the rides you will slow down and remember how lucky and blessed (whatever faith) you are.

06/15/09 -- day 04 -- NOAs issued & mailed from ZIP 60603.

06/16/09 -- day 05 -- All 3 checks posted on my account (deposited the 15th, showed up on the 17th)

06/17/09 -- day 06 -- 1st NOAs received in the mail for I-130/I-485

06/17/09 -- day 06 -- 2nd NOA issued and mailed: fingerprint appt. issued for 07/08/09 at 10 AM

06/20/09 -- day 09 -- 2nd NOA (fingerprint appt.) received in the mail.

I finally received the EAD card after 8 days of waiting (the envelope was stamped for 7/30 but i received it on 8/6).

Anyways, I went to apply for replacement of my SS card but found out I have to wait TWO WEEKS for it to be mailed to me?!?!?!?!?

How long did it take for you guys to receive your SS cards?

12/13/07: Met for the first time

1/4/08: Began dating

1/18/09: Got engaged

5/26/09: Holy matrimony

6/3/09: I-130 & AOS sent via FedEx Express Saver

6/5/09: Package received by USCIS Office - signed by A. Ainalakis

6/11/09: Checks for I-130 and I-485 cashed

6/15/09: NoA received were received for I-130, I-485 and I-765 (they were all dated 6/10/09)

7/7/09: Biometric date (completed on 7/2/09)

7/21/09: Interview date notice received (notice dated 7/15/09)

7/24/09: EAD card production ordered (whatever it means)

8/6/09: EAD card received in mail at last (it was mailed out on 7/30/09)

9/10/09: Interview passed after 10 minutes!!!

9/14/09: Received Welcome Notice in mail

9/21/09: Finally received the CARD that I have been looking for many many years

Congrats on receiving your EAD!! We didn't apply for a SS# for Alexandra until we received her EAD...I wish we hadn't waited, but when we went with her EAD they said her info was not showing up in USCIS so they couldn't issue her a card and it might be 8 weeks before they receive confirmation, but would send it as sson as they received the info. That was on the 4th of August, yesterday she received a letter saying her SS card should be sent to her within 2 weeks. So I have no idea what is happening, I hope the 2nd letter replaces the first. I tried to call but of course it is an endless maze to get to a CS rep. and they want you to enter a SS# to get to the next menu..lol! But I hear generally it is 7-10 days to receive. They did tell me although it would be in her married name, when she received her GC she will need a replacement so the red lettering not valid for work authorization could be removed. I am so accustomed to misinformation or half informations you never know what is up.
