Thankfully, overall things have been proceeding fairly expeditiously for everyone here. Hopefully, it'll keep up the pace.

It seems like there are a group of people each month that move quickly and others that move slow.

I think I've moved into the slow group

I am in the same group with you. We even have kinda similar timelines as far as when we sent out application..

I had my biometrics done 20 days ago already, and have not heard any news..

I think they forgot about us!!!

I think they forgot about us!!!

I bet you'll both hear something next week. Your timelines both say that you'll be adjudicated between August 4-11 -The biometrics appointment has no bearing on the approval date.... It's usually around 45 days from the NOA1. I wouldn't get too stressed over it yet!

There was exactly 2 weeks between my original Bio appt and my EAD approval, but there was a 29 day gap without anything on mine. Don't give up! You're still well within the processing time...it will come soon!

There was exactly 2 weeks between my original Bio appt and my EAD approval, but there was a 29 day gap without anything on mine. Don't give up! You're still well within the processing time...it will come soon!

Oh I know. and I def don't think going early affects it at all - I'm just impatient!!!

Tonight I'm going to order and pizza and try and relax!! I really have been trying not to think about it. But it's hard!

Maybe I need to take the bookmark to the USCIS login off my toolbar. I think it's distracting me!

Thank you everyone for warming words!! I know it'll happen sooner or later.. Just really anxious to start working again, and plan our trip back to see my parents that I haven't seen in over a year..:/

I can't even imagine how much more stressed out I would be if I didn't find this forum and did not have people to share this experience with!

I haven't seen my parents/brothers in FOREVER too. To be honest, I think I miss the dog the most! hahaha I talk to my brothers daily on msn and I call home every other day.

And my grandma has Alzheimer's but she remembers enough of her only grandchild that she always asks me "When am I going to see you again?" when I call her. Breaks my heart...

I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa! Are you planning on going down there any time soon? My sister was on a vacation in Bulgaria just a couple of weeks ago with some of her friends, she really liked it (she's 15!)

Sometimes when I think about my family, I start thinking about moving to Ukraine with Peter and living there for some time.. It's always an option in our minds, but it would be hard to make such a move without knowing we will find jobs right away there (most importantly, for both of us - with him speaking neither Ukrainian, nor Russian)..

I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa! Are you planning on going down there any time soon? My sister was on a vacation in Bulgaria just a couple of weeks ago with some of her friends, she really liked it (she's 15!)

Sometimes when I think about my family, I start thinking about moving to Ukraine with Peter and living there for some time.. It's always an option in our minds, but it would be hard to make such a move without knowing we will find jobs right away there (most importantly, for both of us - with him speaking neither Ukrainian, nor Russian)..

It's a hard decision to make to leave here, or go back home. My husband & I have discussed it many times but I think [right now away] it's best for us to live here. It's very hard to become a teacher in Toronto and there are tons of jobs here. Plus, we can get a house here. In toronto, houses are VERY expensive and you usually have to go way out of town to get them.

I can't wait to have my greencard so I can start visiting all the time! I'm actually hoping to have it before christmas so that I can surprise everyone!

Thanks, Panna!! That's cool that your sister went on vacation to Bulgaria. She was probably at the Black Sea? Yeah, we have a little house there near the beach in Varna, where I used to spend my summers. It's very nice there - beautiful coastline, fresh and super-tasty fruit and vegetables, very pastoral (at least that's how it was when I was a kid; I hear there's lots of development taking place now.) Yeah, if all goes well, I'll try to plan a trip over Christmas.

I could see the appeal for you of moving back to Ukraine, though the job situation is probably worse there than in the US, and the pay scale is probably much lower. Though Peter may still be able to find something that his beign American would help him get.

I probably won't move back to BG anytime soon. I've lived in the US exactly half of my life (certainly the half I remember better) and I can't imagine giving up my home, my friends, my career, the life I know. Most importantly, Jeff and I are addicted to surfing - we could never live away from the ocean! B)

Though I do really miss my parents - I hope I can bring them here some day!

I don't know exactly where she went - I've never been there myself, so the name of the city didn't stick with me. I can ask her next time I talk to her though. But yes, it was at the Black Sea. I used to spend my whole summers there when I was growing up myself.. Good memories..

You're right, the job situation is worse there, but I know that I will be able to get a decent job, and hopefully we would find something for Peter also.. But then pulling the plug and actually making the move is hard, we did establish our lives here already more or less, and there are some great job opportunities shaping up for Peter right now..So I honestly doubt we will do it, but I think we will think about it forever.. Just the nature of international marriages I suppose

I understand what you are saying, if you are happy here, there is really no need to move. With the technologies nowadays, your family could be living in Ohio or Bulgaria, you can talk to them and see them the same number of times. So we need to do whatever is best for our newly created families, as long as it makes sense

Thanks. He's been through a lot. He had a major brain surgery about 6 years ago because they found a cancer tumor the size of a lemon!

Then he got skin cancer and between that, all the drugs he's on to handle everything, he just can't handle it.

I'm off for a hair cut! Have a great evening!
