Anyone get their biometrics letter before their NOAs for AOS, EAD, AP? I filed on the 11th and still no NOA...USCIS recieved our package on the 19th according to their website. Do we even need these NOA's in the future? I have no way of knowing if they recieved the AP.

It's rare, but possible, to get a biometrics letter before the first NOA.

Let's walk this step by step:

* Who paid for the applications? Whose check or money order was attached to the forms?

If it's yours from your bank or your spouse, check online whether the check has been cashed/deposited.

On the back of the check there will be some numbers, though hard to see. Those are your receipt numbers (application number).

Do we even need these NOA's in the future?

Without a NOA, you have no proof for yourself that the applications have been filed.

It's very important you receive at least the first NOA; it takes up to 30 days to get it but we know from experience that 5-10 after the package was delivered to USCIS that letter will be on your mailbox.

Hang in there. Your package was more likely open on Wednesday/Thu/Fri of last week and the letter is on the mail.

I bet you'll get it tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

We sent a money order in his name (i am the USC) and we filed everything together. We have the biometrics appointment letter, but nothing else yet. I guess I will wait....just hope the noa's aren't needed in the future. Thanks for your response.

Great news, your GC will be approved within 2 months without the interview based on the past month's blogs' timelines.

I was thinking the same thing about the biometrics...not complaining. I just hope it doesn't get transferred out of California again

Erika check on your Biometrics letter and you will see some info of the applications i.e

application No.1 which is I485 with a barcode below it and

application No.2 which is I 765 with a barcode below

those numbers there are the receipt numbers of I485 and I765 which is your NOA1 numbers. for the EAD and Adjust of status and u may need to wait for the AP

We have now sent I-130, I-485 and I-765 off, check was cashed yesterday but showed up today in bank. My receipt number appears to start with USC, does that sound right? I think USC is incorrect. Probably VSC

MSC = Missouri Service Center (aka National Benefit Center)

VSC = Vermont Service Center

CSC = California Service Center

NSC = Nebraska Service Center

TSC = Texas Service Center

Try on USCIS.gov to see if the number is valid.

Always remember to add a few more numbers at the end. For example, if your reads VSC12345678 try 78, 79, 80. Sometimes what you see at the back of the check isn't necessarily the actual receipt number. Who knows why.

No luck, I have tried all the letters already just not diff. numbers at the end. So I guess either my case isn't in the system yet or have to wait for NOA.

Had biometrics appointment today...all went smoothly. We arrived about 30 minutes early and they took Alexandra right in and it was about a 20 minute process.
