Biometrics letters were mailed 6/25. Appointment is 7/21. USCIS portfolio is still not updated.

Has anyone figured out yet if getting the biometrics completed earlier speeds up the process?

Received today an RFE for the I-864 the &@#$ lawyer forgot to submit.

I'm completing it and forwarding it to NBC as per the instructions.

Until I receive a confirmation that the two applications are combined I must continue to treat them separate... sigh....

Anyway, the letter came from NBC dated 06/23 and was postmarked 06/24.

and still no touches!

QUESTION: In the spreadsheet, the column "RFE SENT".... is that for the day USCIS sent the RFE or the day the customer responded to it?

I'm not sure why we have biometrics appointments for the kids. Both are younger than 14. We will take them with us when we go for Bella's appointment just in case they really need to go through the process but I think it is probably a mistake.

Not sure if it speeds anything up...I would think the quicker they got the biometrics it would start another process or something, but I don't know. I tried to talk Alexandra in to going early and she said they gave us appointment for a reason...so i kind of dropped it

In my opinion, getting biometrics done earlier won't speed up the I-485/I-130/I-765 processing but it will buy you time in the background check investigation.

What I mean by that is, say, an IO calls you for interview 5 weeks after you did your BIO. Let's say it takes USCIS/FBI 8 weeks to clear your prints & name therefore the IO will conditionally approve your GC but your case isnt' fully adjudicated yet. By getting BIO done earlier then your name may be released by the time of the interview.

I'm basing this on what I heard from some users here that some IOs wouldn't approve their case completely because their name didn't clear through the system at the time of the interview. I'm thinking if you go earlier you are buying yourself time.

I'm planning on asking my interviewing IO (if I feel comfortable around him/her) when my name cleared the system HOPING IT DOES by the time of time interview of course

Just my 2 cents...

Isn't it a shame we can't just pick up the phone and ask someone at USCIS when we have questions but we all know that would be a waste of time.

Not sure about if it speeds it up or not, it's just hard for me to wait - it was the only thing we could (try) to do early, so we went ahead and tried - especially since it was 3 weeks out. Had it been really close we would have waited.

By the way, they don't update the USCIS portfolio for biometrics appts - not sure if that's what you were saying or not. You will most likely get a touch after they do your biometrics, but that's just changing that last date updated.

That's when you respond to what you received. Don't have one for when they sent it to you. That was quick! Does that mean they were already adjuticating that package?

If there's a God, then it's taken the form/shape of that adjudicator. What are the odds? But never lose faith.

Only... if there were adjudicating the right one instead of that sloppy application.

Then again, I'm hoping the referral letter Baltimore Field office created, my letter which hasn't been picked up, and a response to the RFE would create a HARD "TOUCH" meaning someone will have to take those 3 pieces of document and do something with them.

At that point maybe that adjudicator will be "umm... ok, might as well work it... seems a pretty straight-forward case".

The Air Force is waiting for me... the sooner this happens, the BETTER.

I will be more than happy to join you,,,we were married on the 24 of April here in Arizona.We had a very small ceremony as my family is all over the world and we couldnt find a date that would accomodate everyone,s busy schedule.We had an extended honeymoon and our reception is in ther summer.We are looking forward to it.

Am more than happy to join you and i am so excited about the world process.I have filed all my forms,done with the medical(vaccinations only).You dont need to do a full medical exam but most doctors here will try to talk you into iit.It took me several tries to finally find the doctor that agreed to do my vaccines .

All we are waiting for is my husband,s W2 from IRS and i will be done.

Where do you live?I hope you find a doctor soon so that we can mail out our AOS packages and begin the waiting part.One more thing,,even if you did the chest X ray for TB,the doctors might want you to do the skin text.I am not sure if this is true with other K 1 filers,i did eventhough i had the X ray in Vancouver.

Hi! I am not yet getting married but soon. I've undergo PTB test in the Philippines and I was advice by the immigration officer to see our local public health. When I got there, they told me that even though I am cleared in the Philippines, they will still give me test. So, I got my skin test, and turn to be negative. I was given a paper stating that I undergo certain and validates my health clearance. I was told that it still needed for AOS. I was told also that I got the test earlier because the test is for AOS and they haven't get my paper. They just photocopy my documents.

Since there's little we can do now in this long stretch of waiting, I thought I'd start thinking about what documents to start gathering for the interview. Aside from the originals of everything we've already submitted, how much more stuff are people planning to show?

I was thinking:

- 2-3 recent pay stubs of me and hubby

- most recent electric and cable bills showing our names (we had already sent copies of earlier ones)

- most recent joint checking account statement (we had already sent a copy of an earlier one)

- joint auto insurance (this was not included in our original packet as we hadn't consolidated it yet)

- couple more pics

We don't have a joint lease (even though we live together) as the landlord would charge us an additional $360 a year in water/sewer fees if they know someone else lives in the apartment with me. That's the fee for the I-130 right there! So if the INS asks why we don't have a joint lease, we'll tell them that we don't want to pay the extra money. Who can blame us in this economy?

Apart from the above listed, I am not planning on bringing more evidence than what I originally sent. What are you guys' thoughts?

hi not posted in here before as been in the uk thread but i wanted to see how all the other june filers were getting on with their bio appointments? I filed on the 18th (NOA1 date) but i have yet to get my bio appointment through. it looks like there are people after me who have already got theirs. it was abut the 21st that i got the noa1s in the post so it shouldn't take too long for it to arrive once sent. so i am assuming it been hasn't been generated yet.

I am starting to get a bit antsy as i want to get things moving. am I on my own here or are there others near my date that haven't got their yet?

Thanks, Leo. These are good suggestions. I will look into my 401k to see if I can get a statement that Jeff will inherit the cash if I feed the worms first.

We weren't able to consolidate our health insurance though -- he served in the Coast Guard and so gets lifetime coverage as a veteran at any VA hospital, whereas I get my health insurance through my job. If necessary, we'll explain to them.
