In my case, all of my apps (including AP) got touched after I had the biometrics, but I don't think that means anything one way or another. I heard touches appear even if someone just moved your file from one desk to another.

Look at it this way... If your application is being moved from one desk to the next it means that

1) It hasn't been lost.

2) There's a 50/50 chance that they will work on it or NOT.

I'd rather see a touch than months go by without ANY updates.

Winifred - My online updates say the same.

Leo - The wait is indeed the hard part. Now that the initial excitement of the flurry of NOA1s and the bio appointments has passed, we have to sit tight and wait... Arrgh. It seemed like earlier this year they were processing relatively swiftly - sometimes in as little as 2 months!, but maybe they've slowed down now with more applications. The official timeline on the USCIS site says within 5 months.

Sapphire - Welcome! It's so great that we have the support of each other in this group - it makes it much easier with others out there who are going through this too.

Leo - I agree. But don't worry about the lack of touches - I saw somewhere in these forums posts from people who got the aps approves with very few touches along the way! For all we know, less touching = smoother sailing.

Thanks for letting me know. I am content to wait now that I am with my dude but I will be checking for those touches.

Hi,

I have a k-3 visa,

I came here on May 13th, and

I filed my AOS on June 19th,

and it's going to be a week and I don't have any mail about it.

I see most of the people here, get the notification 3 or 4 days after they filed.

Does the address we use for the k3 visa must be the same for the AOS?

I also have a question about driver license. I live in Chicago, and I wonder if I could get a license here with this visa or if I have to wait until my EAD is approved to get my SSN and then my license.

Welcome!! First off, you sent your paperwork on a Friday so you have the weekend in that time frame, I would give it a couple more days then wonder. Also, what address did you send it to? You should get your SSN ASAP, it is helpful when trying to be on joint accounts etc.. as far as your DL I am not sure about IL. You can search on here and find info about IL and DL's I am sure. I know in Florida they would only give Alexandra a State ID that expired when her visa expired. You will need your EAD to work though.

Hello everyone, just found this thread! We filed AOS, EAD,AP on the 11th. Anyone else file around this time and still not have their I-797 NOAs? I'm getting worried. For K-1 we send it to Chicago right? That's what I understood anyway. How is everyone else doing in their progress so far?

Also, anyone know how to see if USCIS has recieved your AOS package without having the NOA? I have an account from when we filed the K-1, but isn't this different? You call USCIS and it also prompts you for the number on the NOA in order to get any updates, but I just want to know if they have it in their posession is all!! The postal service online tracker says it was delivered on June 13th successfully, but I haven't a clue if that is true as i didn't get my delivery confirmation or my NOA!

Anyone care to help with any comments? :help::no:

What do you all say??? 2-6 MONTHS?

From what I have seen in the March-May filers forums, it seems like they're going pretty fast! Hopefully within 4 months max I say. Of course, the most important for us - as it may be for some of you too - is EAD, after that the green card is just the cherry on the cake lol!

Winifred - My online updates say the same.

Leo - The wait is indeed the hard part. Now that the initial excitement of the flurry of NOA1s and the bio appointments has passed, we have to sit tight and wait... Arrgh. Mine says the same thing online too. And the NBC site says 3 months for EAD & AP so hopefully that will be coming soon too!

I wouldn't worry about it, I filed mine on the 9th and I just got my NOAs 3 days ago. Give them a little bit more time! Did you send it certified?

Welcome all new filers! As far as seeing if they have received anything, check for the cashed check through your bank and also the tracker online like you did. I was able to see that mine was delivered a week before we got the NOAs in the mail. Hope for good news soon!

How about checking to see if your checks were cashed? I didn't get the NOAs till the 13th, but when I logged into my bank account on the 9th saw the checks were cashed so I knew the application was received. When the NOAs later arrived, they were dated the same day as the checks - the 9th.

I wouldn't worry too much just yet if it hasn't been 2 weeks since you sent it. (Though I know all too well how hard it is to be patient in this game!!)
