I think they just tell you when you have an appointment.

I'm confused too, Leo. I got that you call anything from them a NOA, and I'm glad you feel it's good news but it still hasn't consolidated anything for you. I hope your infopass appt straightens things out for you and that you don't have to pay double. Lawyers suck.

Anything on my end would be nice :( I sent the package on 6/9 and I just got the green certified mail card back on 6/18; check is cashed but still no NOAs :( . It took longer than expected to arrive and then there was a weekend right after arrival...hopefully I'll get something next week!

Have a great weekend everybody!

Yeah my interpretation was NOA to be Notice of Action. Do the RFE requests come on an I-797C aka NOA?

Hopefully no one here will know the answer to this

And you're right, NBC issuing two appt. at different times/dates means nothing has been consolidated but I'm not losing any sleep over that though the wife is panicking about the possibility of paying double! If so... oh well. Money comes and goes. Not much I can say to cheer myself up. Paying double will suck but I won't do anything that will slow down the application process.

Chelsea I think the delays in your case may be due to the distance you live from major USPS distribution centers (just a possibility). I'm curious to see the date on the STAMP when you get your first NOA letter.

Weekend is fine! Getting ready for Father's day and July 4th celebrations.

note to self: Must get away from computer :D

Everyone enjoy the good warm weather. You'll miss it in January and you know that :)

OK! I got my biometrics appointment letter. It must have arrived on Saturday. The envelope is dated the 17th but the notice says the 16th. The appointment is for July 10th at 12pm. I am so happy to be moving forward and so happy to have my question of 'When?' answered. Hope all is well.

Chelsea,

If you don't mind I've added a column to the spreadsheet right after I-693 SUBMITTED?

The column reads BIO APPT ISSUED DATE. There we complete the date the appt. was issued/received so we can clearly see when the appt. are issued after the first NOA is received, or not.

What do you think?

Not a problem.

I hope it has nothing to do with the fact that I didn't submit I-693. I don't know exactly what you mean by a major USPS distribution center, but I don't live quite as much in the boonies as you might imagine. Lynchburg is actually the biggest city on the East coast that doesn't have an interstate running directly through it. Also, when I did my K-1 stuff I got things right away. Pretty sure it's just that my package got in the wrong "crowd" haha...tomorrow's a new mail day!

Glad you got your biometrics, Winifred! What big things do you and Balvino have planned for this summer?

Yep you got it. That's basically where I was going. Mail out of Chicago probably gets routed through Richmond Int'l airport or Norfolk before it gets trucked out to Lynchburg. On the other hand, Manhattan residents for example get their mail pretty quickly.

I worked in a logistics / transportation company for quite a long time so this comes naturally to me.

Alright Winifred! I see you've updated the spreadsheet too.

Looks like most people have received their bio appt. already. I have a feeling Chelsea will get hers Monday, Tuesday at the latest.

:ot: Just wanted to share a semi-homemade recipe I came up with today.

I took a roll of Pillsbury croissants, baked them until they were almost done... took them out of the oven and I applied maple syrup on top with a brush, sprinkle some sugar and some crushed almond/honey roasted cereals. Finish them off in the oven and eat. Delicious, sweet and crunchy. I'm bored :(

I got my check cashed on 6/11 with NOA date of 6/10 but it didn't arrive in mail until 6/15 even though I live 10 mins from Manhattan. So it seems that their mails take a while. You should receive yours either today or tomorrow.

I guess it varies. We already received our appointment for the 30th of June. It sucks that we can't just walk in and get it done though.

Interesting. So maybe we will hear something in a few days. Congrats finding out your having a girl...that is so exciting. Any names yet?

We've been going back and forth with the names :( So far we have:

Gianna Marie

Lauren Sophia

Natalie Marie

Arianna Marie

Kaylee Marie

I just hope the baby is not born around our interview date. That would suck

Or can you? :)

Some people were successfully able to get the BIO done earlier than the appt. date.

Perhaps, you get really extra lucky you can just show your first NOA received and convince them to do it early.

But I"m not wasting $16 in parking just to get sent home. I will go early as soon as an appt. date is received.

This is good to know. Our appointment center is not that far away from our house. It would be nice if we could go prior to the appointment date. Do you know if other ppl have been successful at getting it done early all the time? This might be something we could consider

I'll let you know tomorrow. I'm in for my infopass appt. and we'll cross the street (and I don't mean it literally - the ASC it's right across the street from CIS) and try to get it done in the morning. I should be out and back by noon to report my good/bad luck.

I would say walk-in to where you're supposed to have the BIO done, show up early after everybody's had a chance to have breakfast, be extra nice and brief.

Since your appt. is scheduled in an iffy day pull that card out - that the appt. date might be a mistake.

Tell them that since you're "already" in the building, might as well get this done now why drive again and burn more gas? ;)

Show up on a Friday rather than on Monday.

Get the officer(s) on your side but don't cry.

I'd think it's like going to the DMV (sorta).

Again, this is just me.

What you got to lose other than gas, time, patience and money?

Leo-Feng - thanks for the good advice! I drove to the ASC last Friday afternoon and got the biometrics done as a walk-in 2 weeks ahead of my appointment time. I told them "I wasn't sure if you are going to be open on July 3 when my appointment is" and the gentleman said "Well, since we don't have too many people in line right now, go ahead and do it now."

That is good to hear because I am thinking about walking in and doing the same thing tomorrow. My appointment is on the 10th but that weekend is very busy for me and the events start on Thursday. If we can't do it right then I am hoping to change the date. The whole deal with sending back the letter to request a change is such a drag, especially since our mail is being forwarded only once a week. So I wish you luck Leo Feng and please wish me luck. I plan on going in early...I wonder what time they open.

DavChels: I hope you hear something soon. There is no reasoning to the mail madness but I wish you the best. Balvino and I do not have too much planned. We are heading out to the Berkshires for the summer. I am working as my friends Personal Assistant so I will be very busy helping her with events for Tanglewood. Balvino will be helping with some landscaping and practicing his English and driving. He rode the lawn mower around all weekend and love it. I guess that counts as practice for the driving test :P

Well we had another "when it rains it pours" mail day - we got all 3 NOAs (issued the 17th - last Weds) AND the Biometrics appt (issued the 19th - last Fri). Our Biometrics is going to be in Durham NC @ the Raleigh ASC, not in DC like we thought. Turns out it will be closer - we mapquested it already and it's only 2.5 hours from here. And on a Wednesday at 1pm! Not going to risk going early, just going to wait it out. Feel better that we at least have our receipts and all

Richy & Rosy, I like Lauren Sophia and Josue said he likes Gianna Marie. Would you say Gianna pronounced Spanish (Hee-anna) or more like Italian (Yanna)???

1. You can still get an interview if you are transfered.

2. I am not sure about this but I think anyone can get transfered.

I like scanning pervious threads regarding AOS for info about this sort of thing. I was wondering when you should be worried about getting an RFE. I see that many people get them after EAD and AP are approved.

I have seen the first one a lot, but I don't know if it is a guarantee. If it's just for K-1ers I have no idea. You may want to look in some previous months filers forums like Feb or March and see the statistics.

Edit: Haha Winifred I see we were on the same wavelength. Good to know RFEs come after EAD, that's the main thing we're waiting on lol! How's Balvino coming with his English? Are you spoiling him at home w/ Spanish like I do with Josue?
