Hey guys! Check out the spreadsheet - I filled in everything missing that I could find (for those who had not yet been marked orange/approved), and that leaves 5 of us that filed in June that have not yet been approved -

spiceconiac

And actually, I think spiceconiac has been approved but just hasn't updated her timeline or signature because according to the spreadsheet, she had an interview on 9/3, so I couldn't tell. And all of us but Leo-Feng were transferred mid-July and I would bet a lot of money that we are sitting together keeping each other warm in our nice manila folders.

Anyway, there are also three people that had no information whatsoever - I couldn't even find hooliocesar or ccarter anywhere on VJ!!! So if you "see" them, tell them to head on over to the spreadsheet to update their rows!

If you have been approved, I encourage you to check out your info on the spreadsheet and make sure everything is filled in - this will be saved in all internet-space for VJ posterity!

So we're down to a group of three that were transferred plus one ...well wherever we are, I still think the same person is meant to be looking after us. What they are doing is anyone's guess

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Got our greencard today!!! For all those still waiting. Our case was transferred to the CSC on July 31st and didn't hear anything until November 3rd when we got an email "welcoming the new permanent resident." We did not have an interview. We never got any card production ordered letter or email.

I don't know how common this is, but just for those still waiting, you never know when the news will come.

As a side note, I was concerned that our application had been lost or that we never got our interview letter and called USCIS twice, in September and in October. If you've had bad luck with the customer support in the past, it's really the luck of who you get on the phone. I've talked to supervisors and others with varying degrees of success. The last supervisor I spoke with was very helpful in reassuring me that our application was indeed being processed and not lost or forgotten.

Best wishes to all. See you in 33 months. :-D

p.s. If anyone knows of any communications engineering or lawyering jobs in the DC area, please send me a message let me know. This economy has hit us hard.

Congratulations to you cjsheetz! I live in Baltimore and can tell you those jobs are all but dried up here.

Good luck on the job hunt in DC. Just out of curiosity, what sort of job is "communications engineering"?

Typically a phone company I think but let me know. I know a friend who lives in Shenandoah and their phone co. (Shentel) tipically looks for grads to fill up the positions no one in Shenandoah can fill. (most retirees)

Doing the maths, which I suck at, we have been at CSC 118 days and there is nothing they will do until after 180. I can't even chase them up until after at least January 12th.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Well, at least we can still be thankful for the simple fact that we are with the one we love...that's way more than we could say before through the K-1/K-3 process, right?

Oh, and Josue got a full-time position with the same company that he is working for, so he is now working 8-4:30 M-F...amazing schedule...except for the fact that I work 7:30-3 M-F and we only have one vehicle. Oh well, one step at a time, right? haha!

@cdneh, what exactly can we do after 180 days?

Well true enough that we aren't stuck in separate hemispheres this time. If we'd had a reasonable K1 process I wouldn't mind as much but we were unfortunately at the head of the line there too, they started AP at NVC for K1's and we ended up weeks stuck there. Auckland was scheduling interviews there in just a few days then, but instead of being here last year for the holidays with the delay caused by AP it was March.

Now I thought maybe we'd do okay with AOS, and getting the transfer was great, as it usually meant a quicker time frame. But again, just as we hit the front of the queue...they changed it.

I would just like one time to submit my papers, and hear back in short order. I would like the once not to see people that filed months after we did pass us by.

In a perfect world eh? And USCIS is hardly that.

LOL..having such a rant I need to edit to add..in 180 days we get to ring them. And moan not that it will do us any good.

Cherish these moments! Years from now you will happily remember these days "remember when we only had one car and had to run around?" or "remember when USCIS took forever?".

This happens to me quite often. I always smile when I remember where my family and I've been and I can't help to wonder what will be of the future and how I will look back at these days where I type in front of a computer and whining about USCIS.

We're all young [ aren't we?? ] and got a lot ahead of us.

If it helps, I got an extra car I can lend you. It runs.

Compared to our schedule that's a dream. We have one car and I work 8:30-5 and he works 4-9:30. How do we work that out? So far I've had to work out a deal with my boss where I go home early on the days he works and give him the car, then work from home to make up the time lost... sigh. I wish he could find a full time day job.
