It is late May and I am getting my paperwork together so it looks like I will file in June. Is there anyone else out there in the same boat?

My Husband and I just got married on Saturday and we are very excited and happy to be this far in our journey. We entered the states on a K-1 form Nicaragua. We have our certified marriage license, with our names changed. We went to the local SSN office and applied for his card with the changed name and changed my name too. Now we are struggling to get the vaccination records prepared for the I-485 application. Lots of doctors insist on doing the whole physical again. Blah!! I called the USCIS about this and they said I could visit the local office to report the problem and get advice. I plan to visit a few other options before I go there.

Good Luck to all out there working through this process. I would love to hear about others experience.

Hello Winifredbee,,

I will be more than happy to join you,,,we were married on the 24 of April here in Arizona. We had a very small ceremony as my family is all over the world and we couldnt find a date that would accomodate everyone,s busy schedule. We had an extended honeymoon and our reception is in ther summer. We are looking forward to it.

Am more than happy to join you and i am so excited about the world process.I have filed all my forms, done with the medical(vaccinations only). You dont need to do a full medical exam but most doctors here will try to talk you into iit.It took me several tries to finally find the doctor that agreed to do my vaccines .

All we are waiting for is my husband,s W2 from IRS and i will be done.

Where do you live?I hope you find a doctor soon so that we can mail out our AOS packages and begin the waiting part. One more thing,,even if you did the chest X ray for TB,the doctors might want you to do the skin text.I am not sure if this is true with other K 1 filers,i did eventhough i had the X ray in Vancouver.

Am in and happy to be with you.

Thanks for the info about the TB. The last doctor mentioned this, so I will see what the next doctor says. I think I have everything else ready to go...I hope.

We live outside Boston right now but who knows where we will move to next. We are both pretty adventurous. We did the same regarding the wedding ceremony. At first I just wanted to go to the town hall but a good friend convinced me to do a wedding. With her help it was super fun and easy. I was surprised how many of my friends dropped what they were doing and came with such short notice.

Sounds like you are a few steps ahead of me so I may be asking a few questions along the way. Keep me posted about when you send in your final package and I will do the same.

Working hard on the forms...my head hurts. I have a few questions but I am slowly figuring them out. The I-131 threw me for a loop but I am going to revisit that form right now.

One question I do have is: Can you submit Turbo Tax tax print outs and do you need your W2s?...for the I-864. I know that you don't them to apply but I hear that it helps avoid an interview.

I hope the doctor visit goes well tomorrow.

Hi...

I would like to join too! I have just started looking at the guides and it is already confusing me. I am the non USC and planning to submit the package before June 15 if possible at all. I will have to redo my medical again since my K-1 medical has just expired. So, this week I will have to start gathering information on the medical and get that done asap.... God knows how long that would take... ughh!

Let's keep us updated and please bear with me if I have plenty of questions coming..which I am sure I will have! LOL..

Cheers and good luck y'all.

Read the Guides but also look at example forms most of them are the same for the K-1 process. It is a tad overwhelming but if you take it a form at a time and write down questions and things needed as you go it helps. I went bonkers with post-its. Read some of the other threads like May or April and ask questions here. Good Luck! I finished most of my paperwork today now just waiting on the medical stuff.

Wishing all of the June fliers much success and speedy approvals.

For all looking for civil surgeon for I-693, reach out to Dr. Arnold. You can do seardh on VJ for the information. It's only $30 to transcribe the I-693.

Thanks. I am end up using him. My papers are at a doctors office now but the doctor is not in till 2. The nurse says it looks like we have all the vaccinations but I am pretty sure my Husband needs a few more. How do you know? Most doctors do not seem to understand the K-1 process.

Hope you all had a wonderfull weekend.Am happy tosay that we mailed my stuffs off this morning ,and its such a relief,,,am sorry i didnt visit this site over the weekend,,,

Winifredbee i hope your doctor appoint this week goes well, and yes,do summit W2 forms and tax returns for at least the past two years.

And to NCwife, why do you need a complete medical?Remember all K1 holders dont have. All you need is the I 693form.

Alot of folks here have used Dr Arnold, and i thinkhe is relatively cheap as i paid 90dollars in Arizona.

I want to welcome all new members and hope we have a smooth AOS journey.

Goodluck to all

To NCwife, are you saying you have been in the states for a year without filling your AOS?Because that is how good the K 1 medical result is valid.

Found this on the CDC site: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/civil_sur...nstructions.pdf

I have been reading about people getting RFE for not having the full medical after waiting too long. I am almost considering paying for another full medical just to move forward.

Good luck to all. I can't wait to mail my stuff.

Hello Winifredbee, how long have you been in the states and when was your last medicval examination?

If you came in as a K 1 and married within the 90days timeline, then i dont see why you feel the need for a complete physical.

Personally if you come in within the last year ,itwould be a waste of money to do another physical.

Is this the only document holding you back from mailing?

By the way, when did you come in ?
