Anyone got a loose weekend with nothing to do?

Maybe you've just arrived in the US and want to get Vegas out of the way. Or you've been in the US a while and have decided it's about time you should spend some time in Sin City itself.

If so, include June 13th in your travel plans and you can come to my wedding :D Great place all sorted, all your food and drink included - what more could you want?! I know what I could want, and that's Elvis doing the ceremony, but the future Mrs Pothergavel is adamant that we can't do that. Sigh. Anyway, if you fancy it, you're more than welcome :D

I've gone on trips to places (MUCH further away, like Sydney) on less incentive than that (A U2 concert). Careful what you wish for! I've got nothing on my calendar, but there's a lot of space and a lot of people getting married. Will you be wearing a funny hat or something so you can be identified?

Is the Mrs the Brit?? I ran the Vegas idea by Nick ...the drive through marriage where Britney Speares got married. He said--

::say this in a posh British accent:: It all sounds a bit too tacky to me.

Geez, they have cherubs painted on the ceiling of the drive through and everything. I wonder if you could order a burger and fries too? :P

Britney got married at the Little White Wedding Chapel which is not a drive through - i know this because I attended a friend's wedding a week after Brit's marriage/annulment at that establishment.

Good luck for your wedding there!

We won a nice little jackpot the night before our wedding there - just enough to pay for AOS at the time.

We here in America like our cars. We have drive thru/in for a LOT of things. I saw the Library had a drive thru pick up window too!! You can sit in your car when you go to the movies. When you go to (regular, not just wedding!) church, when you eat dinner, the pharmacy or when you go to the bank!

A friend of mine did a sort of "artsy" project where he took pictures of all our drive in/thru places. I'll see if it's not online somewhere.

Nigel and I first came to Vegas when him and I first met when he flew down here, unfortunately we weren't divorced yet after being separated from our ex's for like 2 or 3 years, we would have tied the knot there...we were so close....but this time we've got our ducks in a row and we're going back to Vegas for our wedding when this damn K1 is done hopefully fall/winter time....we're gonna do the chapel thing....its like 300 for the ceremony, 65 for the licence, and then of course hotel and food etc...we're thinking about 1000 for the whole she-bang. Cant waaaait!!

Wow, wasn't expecting that many replies :D

Yes, we are getting married in Vegas. At the Ritz, no less!!! Not as good as the London one, but all the same.....

Nope, I am the Brit.

Seriously, if anyone wants to join us, you are more than welcome. We've paid for a certain number of guests and some of the missus's family can't come, so we have room! I'm assuming that nobody from VJ is a complete nutcase!!!
