Hello Everyone,

I got a question to ask and i need a help in this......... Recently i recieved a letter from NVC saying that i need to fill up a form I-864 but i couldn't do so because i was unemployed at that point of time but now i got a job as a mortagage consultant/office manager. My company has given me the job letter saying that i will be making average about $40,000 or more once i completed my training program. On the form I-864 they asked me abuot my individal annual income and i am not sure what my annual income will be and i dont know what to write on the form. I am very confused and i would appreciate if someone give me advice on this matter....

I want to add one more thing my most three recent income tax has been very low because i was attending school and i was working as a part time. I was concentrating more on my studies rather than working as a full time employee. I had applied for the last three income tax and my annual income was less than $5,000. I am afraid if i send them a copy of income tax and what if they rejected it saying that my income was very low. I dont know what to do.. I am very confsed. If someone had a same experience like me can give me some tips...

Guys i really need ur help do reply me as sooon as possible..... thanks a lot for reading this and i am looking forward to hear a reply from u all

Thanks!

Use the amount in the employer put in the letter. As far as the tax returns go, write a letter explaining your situation and have it notarized. Use the letter also to back up why your spouse will not become a public charge. Include supporting evidence, such as your college diploma, transcripts, lifelong SS earnings statements, or whatever you think is reasonable. I just finished writing a letter of explanation for the I-864 EZ regarding taxes and past income. You might want to seek a co-sponsor. You can also call the visa information line in DC and talk to a visa specialist. We got good advice from them. Just be prepared to wait on hold for ten or fifteen minutes.

My son wasn't required to file in 2006 and 2007, but showed good income for 2008, and now has a very secure job.

You might need to have a co sponsor on the I864, only because the previous 3 years you probably didn't make more than the set poverty limit they have. But your current job pays more than twice the limit so you should be good with this year's. But they ask for the previous 3 years to show consistency with making enough so your beneficary will not become a public charge. If you have any assests like property, paid off vehicle or other personal property that can be sold for a signifcant amount of money(greater than $10,000), you can list those as well.
