A brief update on Malaysia police certs. I checked the online portal one month after we applied, and it says ready for collection.

We have not yet picked it up (just starting nvc). Also, they did NOT email us this update.

So, give a check to the online account after you apply -- maybe a month after. If we run into problems with picking it up, I'll update this thread.

I picked up my cert more than a month after it was ready for collection. But the date printed was not collection date, but the date the cert was ready.

I hope to get a confirmation on the cert's validity. The lady at the Wisma Putra counter told me for USA, it's valid for 6 months.

Can anyone confirm that?

Much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi all

due to some personal issues me and my fiancé faces, we only register 2 days before my 90 days is up. hence I am not able to submit my AOS application in time.

currently I am still in the midst of getting all the things right. may I ask you that apart from the forms and document below, what else I should include?

1. G-325a
2. I-864
3. I-485
4. I-765 (optional)
5. I-131 (optional)

- my passport biographical page as well as entry stamps

- I-94

- Birth cert with English translation

- copy of certified marriage certificate

- passport photo

2) I don recall that I have this? --> K-1 Visa Holders: Submit Copy of NOA2 "Approval" for I-129F **
I thought this is with given to the embassy in Malaysia when we were doing our k1 visa application back then?

3) did any of you fill the I-765 and I-131?

hope to hear from your advise

--> you should also include a copy of your K1 visa and remember to also include supporting document for affidavit of support (i-864), a copy of your vaccination card (just in case USCIS dont have it),

2) I don recall that I have this? --> K-1 Visa Holders: Submit Copy of NOA2 "Approval" for I-129F **

I thought this is with given to the embassy in Malaysia when we were doing our k1 visa application back then?

--> It is the hard copy of I-797, notice of action. They sent it to the petitioner upon approval of the i-129f petition. You were not required to give that approval to the notice at the embassy. I hope you will find it.

3) did any of you fill the I-765 and I-131?

--> I filled in both forms as I would like the freedom of going out of the country any time I want before my AOS is completed and I am also very bored here so I must go out and get a job as soon as possible!! :D

hope to hear from your advise

I hope that helps and sorry for the late reply. Not on the internet much these days.

Thanks a lot N&P for your response. No apologies needed.

Supporting documents for I-864 is my husband's income tax paper work rite? Apart from this, anything else he need to submit along with his I-864?

I hope my husband still keep that I-767, I am a little worried that he may not even remember what is that. Will check when he is back from business trip.

As for I-765,can you advise whether I am eligible to apply? coz for the EAD..it says I am supposed to file within 90days for K1 and I am past 90days already.

As for I-131..it requires proof of Travelling date such air ticket and etc. I wanna do this because just in case my family emergencies.

thks

i-864 supporting docs is the tax return. you are correct. That is the only thing that they required for that.

as for EAD and AP, just apply for them together. I dont see the part where it asks for the proof of travelling date? maybe you can check again?

I hope it will go well for you. I know that the forms are a pain in the ###.

Good Luck!

Hi N&P

Yea,there was section ask for traveling date and manage to find a website advising what to put and I just follow accordingly. I hope I get it right. hehe

Yes, is a lot to fill and a lot of supporting doc to include for each application. Is indeed a pain.

But ultimately..i wanna thank everyone here that has been so helpful to me. I hope my AOS application will go through smoothly.

You just have to randomly put a date and reason for your travel haha. That's what I did with mine. Did you submit your I683 too?

Hi, I got my NOA1 on 14 Mar'14 & my NOA2 on 18 Aug'14. My fiancé told me that the letter with my case number said I should go to ccac.state.gov to complete DS-160. I read online that DS-160 is replacing DS156, DS156K & Part 1 DS-230. I understand that DS-160 is to set an interview appointment, but is there anything for me to wait for, like Packet 3 & Packet 4? How about medical appointment?

Sent out I-129F: Mar'14

Received NOA1: 14 Mar'14

Received NOA2: 18 Aug'14

Received Case No.: Aug'14

Submitted online DS-160: 24 Sep'14

Received Packet 3: 25 Sep'14

It took me about 1 month+ to get mine. But not sure if this process has been expedited now considering I got mine almost 1 year ago.

The cert itself is valid for 6 months so if you could align your timeline of when you're going to file, that would be awesome.

Dear all,

I submitted DS-160 online and they informed that they mailed a letter to me, I will assume that is Packet 3, thing to do prior for interview.

Any idea where will the packet 3 sent to? will that be my home addres? How long would that take to get the letter? Appreciate if you can share your experience here.

Thanks
