Hello fellow Malaysians!

I am so glad I found this thread.

My fiance has just started filing for petition for me and we are applying a K1 visa for me. I am very anxious about this whole process! I would love to know how long is the waiting time from date of petition submission to when I will get my part at US embassy in KL?

Hello HannahJoe,

Mine took almost 7 seven months. My fiance sent the petition in October 11, 2012 and got approved in May 03, 2013.I guess it's hard to tell the exact time but I think it'll be more than 5 months mostly. Best of luck..! :)

Hello! I'm so glad I found this thread! It seems like there's too little Malaysian-American couple on here, made me feel so out of place! My fiance received the NOA1 hard copy yesterday. We were both so happy!

I have so many questions to ask about the process after NOA2 but I don't want to write a thread just to ask the question that popped in my mind that very second.

Oh,and good luck to all of you who are going through the process now!!

Hi,

I am wondering how long will it take for the medical to be done up until I get the medical report?

Do they send the medical report to the embassy or do I have to take it myself and bring it during the interview?

Can I do the medical a few days before the interview so I can do it all while I am in KL?

I know it's a long way to go for me but I live in Sabah and I believe that they don't have any authorised panel physician here in Sabah. sad.png I will have to fly to either KL or Kuching. If it's possible, I don't want to be flying back and forth and I don't even have that much leave left from work. crying.gif

I appreciate all the answers and please move my thread to the Malaysian portal. I don't know how to make a new thread at the Malaysian portal.

I posted this question on the thread but I realised that I will get more helpful answers here. So, thanks in advance and I will continue reading this thread tomorrow to get to know everyone smile.png

Hello N&P,

I'm from Sabah too biggrin.png I've done my medical examination in Sarawak last week as it's the nearest place to do it from here and I did it all in one day.I haven't gotten my result yet because the blood test needs few days to be done. Once they get the result they'll call me to inform before they send it to the embassy. You can only do the examination after you received the packet 3 because they need the Case number other than the Appointment letter. Good Luck..!!

Thanks magjue. How much does it cost? So, they will send it back to the embassy? That's good then. I don't have to wait for it. It's so inconvenient not having a panel clinic here in Sabah, but we'll just have to do it that way I guess..

I paid RM355.00 for the medical fee. Actually they'll send the report to me via DHL, and I'll have to bring it to the embassy during the interview. I just got a called from the clinic that my test result is ok yes.gif . I was torn to do it in between KL and Sarawak but decided to do it in Kuching later after I checked the flight cost. The panel clinic in Kuching is not that far from the airport and no traffic unlike in KL, it took less than 30 minutes for me to get there.

Congrats on the test result! I have never been to Kuching, so maybe it's a good excuse for me to visit my friend there. I need to google the clinic in KL too, maybe it's more convenient. But the ticket price to fly to Kuching is definitely cheaper than KL. Thank you so much! When is your interview? Good luck!

***regarding certificate of good conduct***

So I drove to their office and took my certificate after paid RM20, on the way home I mailed my checklist along with the signed statement.

Where did you collect the certificate? In KLN office, KK kah? if yes, Where is it exactly, and could you direct me on what to do to collect it there?

rose.gifrose.gifrose.gifrose.gif

I collected it in Putrajaya Kota Kinabalu. There is only one Putrajaya in kk, situated in jalan UMS on left hand side before one Borneo hypermall. It's a big building with green roof. The foreign affairs office is in block A, 7th floor, contact number 088220018. You have to apply the certificate online and check the status online as well. Once it gets approve, bring the slip of the application (the slip should be printed after the application is submitted) to their office and pay RM20 and get the certificate at the same day. But don't apply it before your petition is approved because it has validity same with the medical examination. :)

I thought the validity is for one year? I have already applied for it actually, and it's now approved, I just haven't go and claim it as I don't know where exactly to get it from. Now I think I will get my birth certificate extract, renew my MyKad and take that police certificate. The validity date starts from the date you apply or when you collect it?
