Also the checklist indicate that the I-134 should be notarized and sponsor may elect to send a sworn in affidavit, also income tax returns should be notarized as well . Can you please confirm if the packet 3 issued is same for all from KL embassy.

Do I really need to have these documents notarized ( I-134 and Income tax returns) and any additional affidavit is required at all ?

Also is there anywhere online copy someone can point me to "Sponsor's Financial responsibly under the social security act"

*Snip*

Can anyone who did the K-1 confirm that the I-134 and tax returns need to be notarized for the KL embassy? Most of what I've read says that those do NOT need to be notarized, but if there are indeed specific then I'd better get new notarized copies sent over...

hi everyone

for the muslims applying for K1/CR1, once you get your visa, do you have your bin/binti in it?

I dont have a middle name and so the 'binti' is now my middle name, which I really do not like and would like to get rid of. Any idea what I can do to get that done in my official documents here in the US ie SSN and GC?

How did interview go for craymel? We are submitting our I-129F next week! I suggested my fiancé on front loading. We have 10 letter of witness of us together and engaged but we only have 2 photos of us together. Printed google voice chat since 2011! Flight tickets/b2 visa are included.. I hope I am okay with evidence of meeting within 2 years.

Hi all,

Am a first time poster but long time "stalker" of this forum. Thanks for all your posts!

Magjue - are you still waiting for your Letter of Good Standing? I applied for mine in the first week of July, and am still awaiting response. Anyone else in the same boat or can offer reasons as to why it's taking so long? I was told by two separate officers from Wisma Putra when I initially applied that it was ONLY going to take 3-4 weeks. In their words - "Jangan bimbang, dik... 3 atau 4 minggu dah boleh ambik".

Also, I was wondering if it were possible to change the interview date that is assigned to us by the Embassy. Will it be possible to push the date to a later one, or are they very strict about following the slot given?

Will appreciate any feedback! :)

Hello Blue Crab,

Yes I'm still waiting for the certificate of good conduct :( , I've called the foreign affairs in Putrajaya, Kota Kinabalu last week but the guy said that it's still in process and that there is nothing I can do but wait.He said to me at the first that it would take a month the fastest but couldn't get over two months. So hopefully soon.I'm really tired of waiting, my petition will be expired on September 02 too.I will have to email the embassy to extend the date of the validity this week.I think you can change the date of the interview , just call or email them.

Magjue - that stinks! I hope that the officer was right in that it will not take more than 2 months.

Hope things will work out, it must be super stressful for you since the petition expiry is around the corner. Good thing they can extend it!

Magjue, how long did it take from the consulate receiving your petition documents to them sending out packet 3 to you? Our papers reached the consulate last Monday, and I emailed them in the middle of the week to ask about packet 3 - so far no reply via email and no packet 3 yet ClockWatch2.gif

Magjue - I went to Wisma Putra today to ask them why the letter of good conduct is taking so long to process and lo and behold, they told me that the letter was ready for collection. It had been ready since July 15 (!!!!) and they had "forgotten" to update the online status. It was a good thing the ladies at the counter were real nice, otherwise there might have been some shouting involved. So it seems it only took them two weeks to process my application. Since you applied not too long after I did, if I were you, I'd go there if it were geographically possible and if not, call them to check if it's ready.

Hello rusberri,

My petition got approved and was sent to the consulate in Kuala Lumpur on 03 May 2013 but I didn't know it until 20 May 2013.So I emailed the consulate asking about it at the same day, and I was told that it would take 4-8 weeks until the documents to reach there. So I waited until 27 June 2013 and emailed them againClockWatch2.gif , it was surprised that they were actually sent the packet 3 to me on 30 May 2013 but I didn't receive it because there was an error in my mailing address. Then I asked them to re-send it on 30 June 2013 and I got the packet 3 on 08 July 2013.

I called the foreign affairs right after I saw your post at 2pm and explaining the situation you mentioned, at the first he asked me to contact the Putera jaya in kl myself but I begged him to check it for me.So he did it and he said "ya certificate cik dah ready" #######..!!! I'm just so f***** hate gov they just can't do their job efficientlymad.gif So I drove to their office and took my certificate after paid RM20, on the way home I mailed my checklist along with the signed statement.Hopefully they will send me the packet 4 by early next month.I asked the consulate to extend the validity of my petition earlier today and they said they would do as what I asked..it's such a relieved.By the way when is your interview?

Awesome! Great to hear that you finally got the letter and that things are moving along.

I haven't gotten an interview date yet, as I just received my Packet 3 late last week. Now that my checklist is complete, I'm going to send it together with the Form DS-230 once I have that completed...probably in the next day or so. And then wait for a date smile.png

Oh wow, that's a really long wait! cray5ol.gif

I'm glad you got your packet 3 sent off, did you do your medical already? Hope you get an interview date soon!

I haven't done my medical yet as I should wait for the panel physician that will come along with the appointment letter I believe. But I wonder if I can do it without the appointment letter since the list is available in the embassy web page..heheidea9dv.gif
