do i need to send something to USCIS?

Timeline

when i filed the I-130 & the I-129 i filed with my maiden name since i didnt have my name legally changed on my social security card, driver's license, or passport yet. now that i have it all changed. do i need to contact or send something to UCSIS? or is there anything else i need to do? i really appreciate all the help

Are you he USC petitioner or are you the beneficiary? In any case, they will go by the name on the biographical page of your passport. That's what I know from our experience. You didn't really have to change your passport name et al, I think, so long as these are valid and not expired. It would be a good move to update the USCIS on that. Wait for other people to reply here too. But don't forget to tell if you're the beneficiary or petitioner.

I really don't believe it'll be a problem. A friend of mine filed to USCIS (both the I-130 and I-129F) in her maiden name, and during that time changed all of her identification to her married name. It was NO problem at all she said!!!

Also, at my interview the lady told me "just so you know your green card will be in your passport name..."

So you'll be fine! :)

Approved: September 7, 2011
