My mom tried a tourist visa to come to the US to visit me two times and she was denied. Now she tried to come to the US again to be with me while my baby is born (I am 7 months pregnant) and yesterday they denied her visa again, gaving the same excuse: that they could not give her the visa because she doesn't have enough money and is divorced, so they considered she would be here ilegally. They were disrespectiful as they usually are to everybody.

Well... Now, I at least would like to know how does it work to bring my mom to visit the US after I get my citizenship? Does she have to get a different kind of visa or she is automatically granted the right to come?

--> Dec 4th, 2006 - Biometrics (appt. letter rec. in 11/24)

--> Nov 28th, 2006 - RFE received

--> Jan, 8th, 2007 - RFE sent

--> Jan, 30th, 2007 - EAD card received

--> Mar, 13th, 2007 - Interview - Pending Security Checks

--> July, 16th, 2007 - USCIS site: Security checks cleared. Welcome Letter in the way!

--> July, 26th, 2007 - GREEN CARD IN THE MAIL!!! (done with USCIS until 04/2009)

Removing Conditions on Residency

--> April 16th, 2009 - Sent I-751 Application to California Service Center

--> May 8th, 2009 - NOA received (1 year extension letter]

--> June 1st, 2009 - Biometrics appt. letter received

You can apply an I-130 for her after you becoming a US citizen. If she gets approved and given a visa, she'll get a GC a month upon getting here.

You might not be able to get her a tourist visa because of the reasons given by the consulate. However, you can petition her for an immigrant visa once you have your citizenship. So, if she wants to visit in US, it will be tough, but if she wants to live her, it would be pretty straight forward to petition her and get a visa.

07/17/2009 Interview Denver USCIS office RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL

08/28/2009 Naturalization Ceremony - US District Court - Denver, Colorado[/b][/u]

09/04/2009 Applied for passport

09/22/2009 Passport approved and mailed

09/24/2009 Passport received

08/26/2009 Naturalization Certificate and Name Change Petition arrive back from State Department
