DON'T OPEN THAT ENVELOPE!!! :)

When I picked up my information, the lady told me "don't open this envelope, the only thing inside of this is all of your information that you told us..." She actually gave me a full copy (piece of paper) that shows all of my immunizations, etc. That's what was in the packet. So don't think it's anything special...it's only what you've told them! :)

I am a paranoid sort. I guess the HIV thing worries me the most. Something like if I had it...gave it to my wife...and she will not be let in the USA because of it. Then if that is the case, I wouldn't be let in Japan, and we would be in some sort of HIV limbo!

I don't think this is the case. I am faithful, but I was a bit crazy before we met. Like I said, I am a bit paranoid when it comes to SEALED envelopes! :help:

I guess you are a really paranoid guy and the only way to stop you from thinking too much is to get your blood tested. I don't know about your wife if they actually tells her what is wrong with her or not. Anyway, get your blood test done if you haven't done so. This would help you a little bit. I didn't get my blood test for a long time (14 years) and I just got it done 2 months ago. HOpe this would help you out a little.

I have been really honest here. This scares me. I've been tested before and no problem. I just don't like this SEALED envelope.

Like the first responder said, it is a standard procedure to give a sealed envelope to the petitioner to take it to the embassy. It is because of a lot of fraud or for that matter swapping records to benefit the petitioner that they are enforcing this rule. If there is any problem like parasites or something, the doctor would subscribe medications; or if you have TB, the doctor will have you take the medication until you are clear of the disease. In the TB case, your process would be delayed until you are clear of the disease. But in any case the doctor would tell you. Good Luck.

If you are concerned about your previous life style then the right thing to do would be to go and get blanket tested for ANY STD's. There are other STD's that may be symptomless but can, for example, effect your wife's ability to conceive should you pass anything on to her.

I just picked up my medical results today.

Tokyo British Clinic, sealed big envelope.

They didn't tell me anything except not to open it and give it directly to the embassy people on the day of interview.

I think if there was something wrong, they'd tell you... because, its your body you deserve to know.

For all I know, the results and the xray are in there.

So don't worry too much about it. The police certificate is also a sealed envelope. They just want to make sure its the original copy from the clinic/police. cause people probably would make changes on it if there was bad results and wasn't sealed.

I had my medical in Vancouver, BC Canada on Wednesday. When I was handed my chest xray the white envelope was stapled to the chest xray's envelope and she said "all is fine, do not worry." Another woman was not fine and she was told that there was a problem and she left crying and very upset.

The reason the envelope is sealed is so the the Embassy knows that it has not been tampered with. That's all. It's kind of a low level security way of preventing falsifying the report.

To take away all your worry - she was actually given the EXACT same information that is in that envelope! It's her medical, she knows it all! Don't freak out about it, like I said, she has all the exact same info.
