While all that time my wife asking and calling to know what is going on .. we got many Ref , just in 31 March 2009 our I129 got updated with no new information in 1 April 2008 we applied I824 for I130 and in July 2008 i received a letter tells they received my application and within 6 months i should receive a decision or a new notice of action . then time passed with out any new information in 11 March 2009 i received a ref tells within 60 days i should receive a new decision or a new notice of action for I130 and again time passed and nothing happened ... my wife called again and they told her they are sending a new letter to her because time was out .. they also told her clearly because me her husband is arabic and muslim they need more time to investigate and review more even its more than 25 months since i been reviewed !!!! in 20 May they send the letter tells ... the progress in your case has been delayed , A check of our record establishes that your case in not ready yet for decision as the reqiured security check remains pending , untill the security checks have been completed we cannot move forward in your case , these security checks required to be completed on all aplicants who apply for immigration benefit you are seeking .we will make every effort to to make a decision on this case as soon as this security checks are complete if you don't receive any decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months please call customer service ... elc... .

What is going on ???

It means that you are in security checks or other checks at this time. Did you get a 221(g) at the time of the interview? What does it say? Being in Administrative Review or Administrative Processing can mean name and fingerprints checks? Travel, education, job checks and verification of the marriage, etc.

why they send fake letters??

These are not fake letters and they are just approximation letters to keep you from being in the total dark. AR/AP can last for days, weeks, months and in some cases years.

why 60 days then 6 months???

Because were hoping that whatever the holdup on your case would be resolved in 60 days and then they extended the time frame to 6 months.

is that true because im arabic they are doing all of this ???

Yes, some of it is because of your being Muslim Male and you are from a high fraud/terrorist country. Since 9/11 men coming from T-countries have to endure more stricter checks.

is the security checks mean FBI name check ???

Not only is the FBI checking you out but numerous agencies are looking at your name and fingerprints. It is a very lengthy process when they start the security checks. Plus, if they are verifying your travels, job, education, job, etc different agencies are involved.

how long does it take ???

how can i be with my wife ??

No time frame for AR/AP like I said earlier it can be days, months, and in some cases years.

Hadi,

You need to find out if they are holding the I-130 or the I-129 for review. It is unclear of which visa you are in review for at this time. Most of the time they ask for more information from you to try and verify your relationship before sending it back. I do not know what to tell you at this time other than I am sorry about your circumstances and hopefully someone can give you some advice. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3896 is a link to returning petitions to the USA from a member by the name of Kiyah. Good luck.

That is not entirely correct. Has nothing to do with being Muslim. Has everything to do with being from a MENA country. I have seen posts from Jewish, Christians, and so on, petitioners, with delays, only common thing: MENA.

Males in paticular are looked at in more detail. I tend to think it's because of the common names used in that region for males.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS
