:) Bantam, i am trying to establish some links here. It matter to me cause each time I call USCIS, they give me different stories. One escalated officer told me they had the Biometrics on file and everything seems normal and OK. Just a matter of time. The next time I got hold of a CRIS Operator, I was told the hold up is because they are waiting to receive my Biometrics hand the background checks is delaying my case. The same day I called again and was yet told by an escalated officer that they have my Biometrics on file. So, what is biometrics basically? Doesn't it mean that once USCIS receives biometrics, the persons particulars and fingerprints have been run through their various checks, and results sent in to USCIS. They why am I being told that background checks are holding up the case. Was curious to know if there was somebody who could give an answer and tell me how many types of checks are involved. I mean I can see people getting their interview dates left and right and I have applied months before them.

They are most likely fobbing you off, they don't know any more than what their little computer screens tell you. Contact a senator to get it pushed in the right direction if you care that much. I'd say that visajourney is bad for you in terms of making you panic about delays, I felt like I was being messed around because everyone got their biometrics before me. After it came a couple of weeks 'late' I stopped checking that kind of thing, too stressful.

I dont know if contacting a Senator or a Congressman at this stage would help. Maybe a few more months and I'll be really concerned. I would agree with you about the panic that sets in when you read the Forums on the web, but overall it does have its advantages too. I guess we are victims of our own curiousity and impatience. I must admit, that visajourney has done me more good than harm, if so. But yes, the stress does come from reading the posts:) I try avoiding going through Forums or from checking USCIS website for updates, but can't help it. 7 months of life wasted during the process and I just want it over with so that i can decide a direction for myself.
