Friends.

My USC Wife just filed the I-130 for my Mother-in-Law. Is there a thread or information you can point me to that descrbes the steps we can look forward to (NOA's, additional filings, interviews, etc.)

September 6, 2003: First meeting in St. Petersburg

March 30, 2004: Engaged in Lisbon, Portugal

October 14, 2004: Arrival in Dallas ! [404 days after we met!!]

January 8, 2005: Married !!!!

January 22, 2005: Honeymoon !

January 31, 2005: Home.. life as Mr. and Mrs. begins [VERY happily!]

September 30, 2005: Green card approved !!!!

October 12, 2005: Anna received her Green Card!

August 14, 2008: Daughter Alexandra is born.

April 21, 2009: Anna becomes US Citizen!

May 28, 2009: Applied for Mother-in-Law's green card.

The process for filing for a parent is the same as the IR-1 process. so you can have a read of the guides here on VJ and get a good idea of what happens when.

I-130 filed with USCIS

I-130 NOA1

I-130 NOA2 (approved)

I-130 sent to NVC

See NVC link for details http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...nal_Visa_Center

Once the case is complete at NVC it is sent to embassy for interview

Medical done in home country before interview

Interview IR-5 visa approved

Arrive in the USA

Greencard arrives in the mail.
