kids AOS

Is anyone got a case same as my wife, she came as a tourist visa and i met her, we get married Oct. 2008, i just finished gathering all the requirements for her AOS, she have 2 kids back in her country, i am thinking not to adjust them together with her because if i did she will going back home and have an interview with them they are 13 and 11 so i decided to finished her papers first and later to the kids, but i really don't know if we will pass everything and have her green card, if i can file her kids right away to join with us or i have to wait years to get them, because if i have to wait 5 years or 10 years to get them might as well i will adjust thier status together with wife..im hopeing anyone can advice me..thanks.

im adjusting from VWP and i sent in the AOS package without adjusting my child. The reasons being is I wanna get settled with the paperwork etc then find a stable job, bigger apartment for the 3 of us before i bring her over.

I never heard of waiting years before i can adjust my childs' status.

i would like to know the answer to this as well.

I think if they are not living in the US, that you as step parent can go ahead and file an I-130 right away for them (and once approved they have a certain amount of time to come to the US). I am not even sure that you will have to adjust their status.

Sorry, I am not totally familiar with the process. You may get some better answers if you post this in a different forum. I think the "bringing family members of a US citizen to America", might be the place to go.
