Marriage License Question

Hi, my fiancee and I are adjusting from VWP and I'm about to apply for our marriage license. Its asking me for "usual residence" address for my fiancee. He has been visiting me since March but of course does have a permanent residence in his home country. Should he put that address on the marriage license or my address that he has been visiting at?

I assume since it says "usual" address that would be his address in his country? It didn't say permanent address or anything so I'm a little confused!

I would put his address in his home country, otherwise it could be seen that he moved to the U.S. to "live" and then decided to get married. However, when adjusting status via the VWP, you must have "spontaneously" decided to get married after the non-U.S. citizen entered the U.S. for a "visit".

Sept. 2/08... Oath Ceremony

Sept. 5/08... Sent in Voter Registration Card

Sept. 9/08... SSA office to change status to "U.S. citizen"

Oct. 8/08... Applied in person for U.S. Passport

Oct. 22/08... U.S. Passport received

Hmm ok, two conflicting answers... I'll just ask my lawyer. :) I figured this way might be a faster reply. Was trying to do the marriage license application online.

My lawyer said to use the address that he's staying at with me in the US.
