I see in the previous post that everybody says that the I134 need not be notarized but on Visa Journey's Brazilian Embassy information page under # 19 of the order of documents it says this:

19- Affidavit od Support

- Form I-134 signed and notarized,

- USC's latest federal income taxes,

- USC's proof of current job and

- USC's proof of citizenship or greencard

Is this just outdated or what?

If you are using the old 134 - it's needs to be notarized.

the new one does not.

Ankara embassy has the same writing, I emailed them, and they said the above.

If your in doubt - email your embassy.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

I-134 is a recent change... I am sure some consulates have not updated there sites

On Jamaica's site, I think is says the form must be notarized as well, so this is outdated for all the embassy?

These things can be consulate specific. For whatever reason Kiev says tax returns should be notarized, (OF-167) so I did it. The new I-134s do not need to be notarized but maybe your consulate requires it. It is always best to email or call the consulate prior to sending off the package. Proof of citizenship is not usually required either (you did that with the I-129f) but consulates have wide latitude on these things.

I emailed the Brazilian embassy and they do not require the notarization.

KEV-1 instructions are different... the OF-167 was last updated 6 years ago
