I am just re-reading Packet 3 instructions. I have a question on one item:

"MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES: Both Petitioner and Beneficiary must present all of their civil

marriage certificates if available."

My fiancee and I are both divorced. We have our divorce certificates (translated). But do we also need our previous marriage certificates?

Thanks.

Not meaning to be a smarta$$, but if the instructions from the consulate ask for something it's best to supply it. No reason to have an unsuccessful interview. You don't want to have to submit even more evidence after the interview (it's very deflating for the both of you) that you could have had in hand.

You may want to go to the Asia: East and Pacific regional forum for Bangkok specific feedback

but it does say "if available" so some wiggle room is provided.

Your divorce papers should be all that you need.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

YES. They show previous names used, previous spouse names. It is a "check and balance"

but it does say "if available" so some wiggle room is provided.

True. Some countries require marriage certificates be turned over when divorced and some issue a "name change" certificate in return. But "if available" you need to provide it.
