Hi every one,

I hope this information will be helpful for you guys who will need it.

I had the interview appointment at 9:30 but I did not get in until 9.00 because I was waiting my fiance went to the US for the US citizen to have the I-134 and the Timeline notazied ( Actually, the I-134 doesnt need the notary because it has the barcode on it, just let you know it) and my interview didnt come until 1:30 pm

Here are the questions that they asked me. There was one foreign man, he may be Korean or Japanese and one was Vietnamese translator. First, I came and the translator talked with me in Vietnamese but I suggested to speak English so they let me do that:

Translator: Anh chi gap nhau nhu the nao? How did you meet each other?

Me: Can I speak English?

Translator: (Smile) Vietnamese or English is ok.

Me: I would like to speak English.

Officer: You speak English?

Me: Sure

Officer: How did you meet?

Me: We met each other online

Officer: What is the website?

Me: Vietnamcupid. Do you know that website?

Officer: (Nod his head) uh huh.

Officer: How many times did he get here?

Me: 3 times including this time. ( my fiance is in Vietnam now)

Officer: What is the first, second time, third time?

Me: First time was on the 27th of March, 2008, second time was on the 7th of August, third time is on 23rd of this month.

Officer: Wait..wait ( and he asked me one more time)

Me: I am so sorry that I got you confused. The first time he came here was on the 27th of March and he got back on the 21st of April, 2008. The second time he came here was on the 7th of August, 2008 and the third time is on 23rd of this month.

Officer: Ok, get it. Did you traveled with him?

Me: Yes, we went to Singapore and Phu Quoc on his first trip. To Phan Thiet and my hometown was on his second trip and we dont go any where this trip.

Officer: Have you ever been to forein country by yourself?

Me: Yes, I traveled to Thailand.

Officer: Did he propose you, when?

Me: On the 30th of March.

Officer: Where does he stay?

Me: Texas

Officer: Which city?

Me: Spring

Officer: What do you know about this city?

Me: When it is in the winter,it is very cold, and when it is in hot season, it is very hot. But the weather there is close to Vietnam one.

Officer: do you know which company he works?

Me: (I answered where my fiance works but the officer was confused so I explain to him one more time.)

Officer: Where do you work?

Me: I work for the two companies that belong to an American company located in Denvor, Colorado. Would you like to see the recommendation letter from my boss? (my boss wrote a letter of my character and trusworthyness and said he would give me a job anytime).

Officer: No. When do you marry?

Me: Very soon after I get there but I dont know the exact date because i need the approval for my visa to the US first.

Officer: Do you know when?(he asked me one more time)

Me: My fiance told me few days ago that if I get passed, the wedding may be on June 19th.

Officer: Ok

Officer: Did he meet your parents?

Me: Yes, on the second trip.

Officer: Ok. Do you have the engagment ceremony?

Me: No, we did not. but we will have it on the June 6, it is coming very soon. Do you want to see the contract that we made between us and the restaurant?

Officer: No. Will his parents or any person in his family will come here?

Me: No, they dont.

Officer: How did you met each other? (this is the second time he asked me)

Me: Vietnamcupid.

Officer: Ok, I asked you already.

Me: Yes, you did.

Officer: What is his favourite food?

Me: He can eat most of everything except for the duck egg with the baby inside. (the officer smile)

Officer: Does he like any sport game?

Me: He likes football.

Officer: What is his hobbies?

Me: Hunting and fishing. He shoot deer or goes offshore for tuna, ....

Officer: How long does it take him to go to work?

Me: 30 minutes, he works in Houseton.

Officer: Houston, ok. What kind of car did he drive?

Me: Toyota Altis.

Officer: where is he now?

Me: in the coffe shop across the street.

Officer: Does he send you money?

Me: Yes, you want to see the invoice?

Office: No. You have pictures?

Me: Sure, sir. Here they are.

Officer: Do you ever have argument?

Me: yes we do, when the internet connections gets interrupted, it stops working.

They looked very carefully at the pics that we took to see the expression on each face. They did not ask me any thing else for evidence.

Then they gave me the pink slip. It was wonerful.

Me: Thank you very much and I am sorry again for the confusing caused to you.

Officer: It is ok.

Today is a long day. Every one had to answer very long interview. I was with them about 20 minutes because there are few things that they need me to explain. When you go to the interview, be very confident, look straight to their eyes, listen to them and ask them to say again in case you can not hear it and make them laugh if you have chance. The man that interviewed me was very serious. And one more thing that you should be very careful is: It is the interview of you, you should yourself organize the papers because when they ask you, you know where it is and you know which it is, which it is for.... , just make the way that you think it is easy for you. If you have the service do that for you, make sure that you double-check the paper just for the knowledge.

Chinh

Also, Chinh said that when the CO would ask a second tiime about something or ask for a clarification, she would say the answer and, "would you like to see the evidence of that?". They never did, but she had a stack of evidence from the first visit, another for the second, another for financial, another for chats and emails, another for her documents, etc. It was pivotal for her to know ALL of the documents and SHE organized them the day before, the way she wanted. She also read every piece of evidence and asked me questions about what she didn't know (W-2, pay stubs etc)

The CO's (3 of them and the translator) sorted through my divorce douments and argued amongst themselves over some of the evidence. Chinh had very detailed explanations and ther CO told her "I got it". He had the pink slip on the table by then. Most of the questions CAME DIRECTLY FROM MY DOCUMENTATION! In my I-129f, I added an addendum-a typed page explaining the details of my divorce. They asked her about those statements. I mentioned that we love to travel and eat and that I love Vitenamese food, but I wouldn't try the duck egg. They asked her about that. I mentioned that we watched the olympics and the european football games together and they asked her about my hobbies and sports.

Lastly, make every effort to be with your spouse/fiancee. If I hadn't come here she would not have been able to ask me about the evidence she found confusing. I would not have been able to fix my mistakes (some I overlooked many times). Quite a few ladies walked out of there today looking very sad. They were alone. The ones that I know passed had spouses waiting for them. So, that being said. THANK YOU!! to all of you who told me last month to GO to Vietnam for the interview. It was you all who talked me into it. MAny many many thanks to Visajourney.com and all of the wonderful people who have helped us so much. God bless you all.

Now on to change of status...

Congratulations Eric and Chinh!! Thanks for the great details of interview, it will be useful to those of us with interview soon. It seems like it was harder questions than some have had. Do you think it is because it is K-1 or just interviewer? Great job preparing and I also think it is important for spouse/ fiance to be there even if it is just for support. Did you just sit in cafe the whole time? That wait is going to be terrible! Best of Luck in future!

I actually stood with a few others (Dai and Mai) who were waiting just like me. I waited in the the cafe for a few minutes with Chinh before the embassy opened, then I stood outside, across the street from tree number 122. Directly behind that tree is the turn style door that your Fiancee/Spouse will come out of. You can see down the breezeway and you'll know when she/he is coming because they will be carrying a big white bag (has their chest x-ray in it). USC's can wait in the embassy, but on the USC side. The only benefit is that it is not quite as hot and there is a restroom close by. I just preferred to wait outside so I would know when she came out. I wanted to see the look on her face.

Chinh told me that some American guy got "thownout" because he demanded to be with his wife/fiancee. I saw him walk out and go by, but I don't know the scoop. I assume that is a pretty damning move, not something that would increase the chance of a pink.

For you who are about to interview. Be absolutely sure that you review anything you submitted in the I-129f/CR-1 with your Fiance, then have her repeat it again until SHE is confident. It will take a few hours but it is paramount! I believe it was priceless for Chinh to refer the evidence and using the American terms. She referred to the W-2 forms instead of the tax papers, and learned the acronyms and what they stood for. She KNOWS these things now. There was no doubt that she and I are for real. Even the points that the CO's got hung up on, she was able to explain very well. We talked in detail about what I thought would be tough spots or red flags. Turns out many were and Chinh was very sharp and confident in her answers. That and alot of prayer is why she passed.

There were some spouses in there that knew nothing about the petition, evidence or process. Be sure to get them educated. They are the one being picked apart and it is their intimate knowledge of you they must be able to convey.

Good luck and God be with you

Erik and Chinh
