Anyhow, where can you buy Nobelcom phone cards? Is that a rechargeable card too that you can buy online?

Im gonna end up trying every recommendation I get here lol

I see, yes you can buy it online just go to nobel.com, you just have to create an account and you can recharge it too and earn points.

Rebtel is also good... They have decent rates -- .11 for landline, .13 for mobile phones. I have been using it for a year now and so far I have not experienced any glitch. Never had any luck with call cards... most of the time, a $5 card will only give you a 10-minute decent connection and then you'll get disconnected. If you will try to call again using the same card, it will tell you that you don't have sufficient funds on it. So there goes your balance down the drain.

Im using Rebtel too..my husband used it too everytime he call when I was still in the Philippines. Its riable and fast..plus you dont need to dial a number and enter pin..all u need to do is add the person's number you want to call in ur rebtel account and they will give you local access number for each person..all u need to is save it to ur phone and just look in their name and press call..thats it!

Not a long way to travel, have fun! =) And goodluck with the pregnancy =)

Cant I set up magicjack here and call them? Or does that only work the other way? Cuz my sister's in-laws have magicjack and she called my cell here in the US once using it and she got thru fine

My main goal is to be able to call cellphones in the phils as economically as possible. If there really is no cheap way, I just want a reliable connection. No luck with that so far.

HI .. I used to use Icallabroad service ...but their connections became so crappy it was almost useless to call. About 8 months ago I switched to enjoyprepaid http://www.enjoyprepaid.com/enjoyprepaid/j...ess_numbers.jsp and have been VERY happy with it. If you use your home phone you dont have to use a pin number ...the connection is clear .. the rate is 14 cents per minute to a cell # in the phils...and to a land line in manilla is 12.5 cents per minute ...I would recommend it .

We use Onesuite online prepaid calling card. It has VoIP feature too just in case you don't have access to a landline. Rates are competitive at 12 cents per minute. If your relatives or love ones in the Philippines has a computer and internet connection then he or she can call a landline or mobile in the US for only 2.5 cents per minute using Onesuite VoIP service. You don't pay monthly fees or any other fees aside from the actual rates on the website.

Anyhow for landline to landline calls there's International OnePrice with Time Warner. Ibelieve it's 1000mins/mo to the Phils for $19.95...sounds good, but no one in my family has a landline anymore

We've been using Time Warner digital phone for 3 months now at the $19.95 price for 1000 minutes. It works just fine, but it's limited to landline use. We had a landline installed at their place a while ago. We've not been able to use the entire 1000 minutes in the month, but the total charge now is half of what it had been at the prevoius land line rate, so we're saving some real dough.

forget the calling cards. We use teh magic jack. Paid $40 for unlimited calling from Ph to US. Even bought another Magic Jack at Best Buy for me here in the states to use so I don't eat up my cell phone minutes (I don't have a home phone so the magicJack is now my home phone). After the first year is over it costs $20 to renew for the next year. Let's see that is less than $2/month or $0.07 per DAY to call unlimited !!!!!

Check it out at Best Buy or MagicJack.com

Thanks much folks! I guess I have to get my Mama to sign up for a landline again. She had it disconnected cuz all the kids have moved out and we all have cellphones...Or I guess I can at least get that Time Warner home phone to make call connections to cellphones clearer (and I think it will save us money bundled with cable and internet)...

Again, thanks for all the input and best of luck to you all! :star:

Well I set up my LAYA account last night and just tried using it a few minutes ago. Couldnt keep the connection going to my sister's cell, called my mom on her cell and got disconnected after 3 mins. Maybe it works better with landlines. Thanks for the tip anyway, it will be my emergency calling account.

So what's this Rebtel and how does it work? I would appreciate the info, thanks much!

Anyhow for landline to landline calls there's International OnePrice with Time Warner. Ibelieve it's 1000mins/mo to the Phils for $19.95...sounds good, but no one in my family has a landline anymore

Im using international calling from my service provider also and pays $19.95 a month for 250 mins ( landline or cellphone ) to the Phils. Yet i always exceed into paying double in a month coz i call everyday, lol , ending up paying $50 in a month for 500 minutes, which i think is not bad at all.

March '05 - met George online thru common friend

March '06 - He went to visit me in the PI first time

May '06 - He came back for the family reunion and proposed for marriage

Nov. '06 - came back to prepare for our wedding

Dec 16, '06 - Wedding Day!

took at least 6 or 7 months (as i remember) for the K3 and was approved!

Nov '07 - I arrived in the US

together again with my gwapo, lol

April 9 - mailed in AOS package

April 13 - NOA for EAD and AOS

April 22 - Biometrics Appointment and will be on May 7 in Jamaica

May 7 - Biometrics done!

May 14 - Got an RFE dated may 9 - joint sponsor :-(

June 5 - they received our reply to the RFE

June 10 - EAD card production ordered, YAYYYYY Thank u, God!

June 21 - EAD card received in mail.

...and the waiting continues for the interview date...... will update later

so i got my interview date, and guess when??

Sept 10 - yaayyyy and its my hubby's Birthday! Approval would be a GREAT bday gift.

Sept 10 - got APPROVED! Indeed its a GREAT Birthday gift! " Card production Ordered" Yayyy

Sept 18 - Welcome Letter received!

Sept 19 - Green Card in hand!
