I was 15 or 16 and saw a friend get shot across the street from me while leaving a house party. That didn't really scar me for life, but it's not an image you can easily get out of your head. When I was 19, I did a ride along with a paramedic. The very first call was a guy who jumped out of a 6 story building head first. His head was bent back and was tocuhing the middle of his back. I think I was nauseated for a week.
