But at what age did you see a dead body for the first time.

For me, I don't even remember because my grandpa used to take me and my cousin bro to the cemetery to play all the time. Mind you its a really beautiful cemetery right besides the sea and all, so it wasn't a scary place for me and I have seen a lot of people getting cremated there on daily basis.

I specifically remember me watching the burning bodies while my cousin bro would put his hand over his face and try to see through his fingers :P . It was funny but that incident made absolutely different impression to both of us, I kind of became this fearless kind of a person who loved horror movies and stuff while he.....well lets not say much :P

Not that I am all fearless but ghosts or ghost stories don't scare me. Now bring a small little puppy and I will be screaming for my life.

So at what age did you see a dead body for the first time and how did it effect you, if it effected you at all?

About age 5. A little friend of my sister's died and my mom took us kids to the funeral and made us view the body. I don't think it really impacted me much nor did I find it to be macabre. I went on into the health care field and saw plenty of dead bodies that I had to touch and be with when they took their final breath. I just think funerals on the whole as a waste of time and money. When my time is up, I want to go in the ground ASAP without any fanfare.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I think funerals are a must, its closure and it brings people together to reflect on that persons life.. I think you have some childhood issues to deal with, that funeral must of really messed with you head. :jest:

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Funerals out here is very different from India. And what happens in India is sure waste of money. There is no eulogy to go by, people just gather to eat and pay to pundits.

I would never want to be buried, I have that fear that I will resurrect again and there will be no one to save me  So just burn my body and say goodbye once and for all.

I went to funerals of relatives from I guess age 10 or so. Seeing a body laid out all dressed up in a casket is much different than death in its natural form though. About 20 years ago I was the first to come upon a car crash where the driver was decapitated still sitting behind the wheel. That is much more distressing.

I saw a two horrific motorcycle accidents, guy was DOA instantly both cases.

First time I was a college student in Ottawa Canada, road was slippery, he took a turn too fast, wiped out, greased the roadway for about 50 yards.

Second time was in Brazil. He was doing highway speeds, probably 60mph. Drove smack into a stationary bus. Went flying into the median. Bye bye.

I saw my grandfather laid out in a coffin at the funeral home when he died at 94, I was 36.
