I just returned from local USCIS office after getting I-551 stamp on passport. The temporary evidence is valid for one year. I guess we are set for an year now... with or without card.

did you take your spouse with you or did you go alone?

You don;t have to go in with the USC spouse. It has nothing to do with him/her. Have your I485 approval letter/welcoming letter and your passport, maybe another type of US government ID (if you have a state ID or driving license, or you got an EAD).

11/17/08 : Application sent (I-130, I-131, I-485, I-765)

11/18/08 : Official receipt of documents stated on I-797C (Signature for receipt at USCIS was on 11/17/2008 at 10PM)

11/28/08 : NOA Received ( I-797C) for all 4 forms (forms issued on 11/26/2008)

12/18/2008: LUD on I-130, I-131, I-765

01/29/2009: Bio done

01/29, 30/2009: LUD on I485 and I765

2/10/2009: issued AP, valid 1 year for multiple entries.

2/23/2009: Got EAD card

3/8/2009: LUD on all applications. Shows approval of I131 and I765, still pending on I130, I485.

04/28/2009 at 9:30 AM: Interview. Told to wait 90 days for a resolution by mail.

05/01/2009: Card production ordered.

05/06/2009: Received approval NOAs for I130 and I485 (welcome notice, 10 years card). I130 still shows case received and pending.

06/18/2009: got the 10 years validity card. Process length: 213 days since sending the applications.

No RFE at all along the process.

im going tomorrow (infopass) to get the stamp (i have to drive 1.5hrs to the mexican border)...not that that'll help me any with my consulate who only accepts the actual card as proof *rolls eyes*

i'm fixin to leave in an hour when I just check my email and my dear friend CRIS sent me ANOTHER Card Production Ordered email.....hmm....maybe this time it'll be within a week?

Hi everyone,

At the time of my GC interview, the (extremely nice) CIS Officer told me that they themselves have been informed of mayor delays in the production of the actual cards. He told me it can take up to five to six months (yes, months) to receive it, after receiving the Welcome Letter.

He later confirmed this on the phone.

However, this should not really be a problem, since - as was already mentioned in this thread - it is possible to get your passport stamped with a I-551 stamp, which serves as the temporary green card, until the actual one arrives.

Me too. I guess they made a general update of the data base.

We are still awaiting the green card, as I see most of you all are here. We were approved on May 13th and our welcome letter was sent to us, the day after that. We've had no second email regarding production as of yet. The one thing that bothers me about all of this, is they took his EAD when they handed us his approval letter at the interview. I'm hoping this all goes through quickly. We've actually had a very smooth and speedy process up to this point.

Oh..... and when the interviewer took his EAD, she told us that we should receive the green card within 10 days. I don't believe they or at least she, was aware of a delay at the Houston office, during that time.

CRIS email dated May 13th saying card production ordered...but no GC arrived and then

June 13th, (30 days later) another CRIS email saying card production ordered.

(I received Welcome to USA letter May 14th).

As many of us, I also got my second "card production ordered" email (the first one was exactly 30 days ago). I do hope that it is a good sign and they finally are done with their remodeling :star:

6 December 2008 - our wedding!!!

3 January 2009 - AOS package sent to Chicago lockbox

5 January - document received by USCIS

8 January - 3 NOAs issued (485, 765, 131)

12 January - NOA hard copies received by mail
