Hi there VJ family how much money in terms of dollars should I brought if I am going to US maybe the immigration officer will ask me how much money do i have right now.lol

You can bring $ 100 as your food allowance in case you get hungry you can buy something at the airport. I brought $200 when I got here. Congratulations and Welcome in USA soon!!

As far as US customs go, you can bring in up to $10,000.00 without having to fill out some customs form. But you can actually bring in more, but you will just claim it by filling out some form.

Also, as I recently found out coming back to US, you cannot bring in any food items with beef or chicken in it. Even if it is only some small ingredient in the item. Was trying to bring back some curry rouge from Japan and they took it at customs. :crying: Didn't know that stuff was banned. The guy even told me that they don't allow cup noodles in because it has chicken stock. Geez and I thought these immigration laws were screwed up....

if you're thinking just for the allowance and nothing BIG $$$ from your savings, hehehe then i believe a $50 will do (have it on 10's and 5's just in case they dont have a change for the big bill)... i honestly had $200 on my pocket and i only used $15 out of it when i got to san fran coz i bought coffee and call cards... have a safe trip!!! :thumbs:

You cannot bring more than $10k. I didn't have to worry about cash when I got here because I have my husband with me (of course, he pays for eveyrthing). :blush: But you may have to get smaller bills in case you get hungry and need to get some snacks. Also have some pesos for the travel tax if you have not paid this yet with your plane ticket. 476952001143128591.gif

Just bring 100-200$ with you just in case something happen, and the flight will get delayed..
