Hi everyone... I just want to make sure on the forms i am going to use on changing address coz my wife and i are moving to our new home next week... Does my wife also need to send an I-865 (Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address) or I'm the only one who'll send an AR-11 (Change of Address Form)? What else should I send to USCIS? FYI, I already received a conditional permanent resident card (green card) last March... Thank you!

My understanding is:

Sponsor sends I-865

Beneficiary sends AR-11

Beneficiary also needs to call as sending an AR-11 will not change the address on any pending applications.

You mean, eventhough i already have the conditional greencard, my wife is still my sponsor and she'll also send the I-865 form? this's what confuses me... If this is the case, I'm still dependent (as a beneficiary) to my wife who is my sponsor? Am I correct?

AR-11 and I-865 are necessary. You can also call USCIS service centre to verify change of address, especially if you have any pending applications.

My understanding is:

Sponsor sends I-865

Beneficiary sends AR-11

Beneficiary also needs to call as sending an AR-11 will not change the address on any pending applications.

Yes, that's right.... your wife will be your sponsor until you either die, leave the US permanently, become a US citizen, or work 40 quarters of work.

YES, YES, and YES

When Should I use Form I-865?

If at any time in the past you completed a Form I-864,

Affidavit of Support, to sponsor an immigrant, you are

required to report your change of address within 30 days

of the change if the sponsorship agreement is still in force.

The sponsorship agreement remains in force until the

sponsored immigrant:

- Becomes a U.S. citizen;

- Can be credited with 40 quarters of work;

- Departs the United States permanently and either formally

abandons lawful permanent resident status (by filing Form

I-407) or is formally held in a removal proceeding to have

abandoned that status;

- In a removal proceeding, loses the lawful permanent

resident status that the sponsored immigrant obtained based

on your Form I-864; or

- Dies.
