No, the name Allah is not in the Bible.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_God_in_Judaism

For myself, I do not believe that the God of Islam is the same God in Christianity. Islam denies the Trinity, so how can God be the same God in both religions?

How many Gods are there?

There is One GOD, however man makes many gods in his image and from his own heart and imaginations. Thats why God has said No other gods before me. Not that they were a God like Him bcz there is no GOD as He. But that us humans shouldnt worship things or idols but only the One true God.

With that said, I agree with Nagi. Adam and I do not believe that Christians and Muslims worship the same God.

Nagi,

That is a great chart! A very useful comparison of these two religions, thank you.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I read the comparison and I agree with everything except where it says "Man: in Islam is created by Allah and is sinless. That's not true. Nothing in the Quran nor ahadith says that man is sinless; rather most of the verses mention what will happen to the sinners and wrong-doers if they do not repent. Allah mentions his mercy and forgiveness over and over to remind sinners to repent.

The second thing is the last point : who will go to heaven: Allah says in the Quran: " Those who believe and those who follow the Jewish scriptures and the Christians and the Sabians and who believe in Allah and the last day and work rightouesness shall have their reward with their Lord on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve" People who have not heard of Muhammed's message and followed the scriptures without adding or taking anything out of it are promised heaven too.

I saw this too. I just assumed it meant that Muslims are BORN sinless.

Just my two cents...

Nothing wrong with a Christian saying "God willing" (Insha'allah). Many of our Christian Jordanian and Egyptian friends say it here and overseas.

As a Christian, I find myself saying this alot. Seeing DiCaprio say it on the big screen was a treat! But seriously, it serves as a good reminder for all of us, no matter what our plans may be, God often does not agree. We rarely hear God willing said in the same manner. What I like about the Muslim faith it that God is so interwoven into the believer's daily lives in so many ways. (Not just an hour on Sundays) I like that their holidays are far from commercialized and center around God. I have great respect and awe for those of you are living different faiths, married and making it work. We said religion would not be a problem for us, we both loved God and wanted to serve for his higher purpose. I will never know now, but can't help thinking at times the challenges, differences, and not surrendering our own truths. How would we pray together? Are we even praying to the same God? Just thoughts... theory quickly becomes reality! For those of you doing it

Ever since I started this thread, the Devil has come against me in a mighty way, but I stand on the solid rock and I make it my goal today, to praise God all day. I know I will come out victorious on the other side!

Psalms 119:28

28 My soul is weary with sorrow: strengthen me according to your word.

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war rise up against me, yet I will be confident. (Psalm 27: 1, 3)

Trust in the Lord and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him. (Psalm 37:3-5, 7a)

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. (Psalm 46:1-3)

Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. (Psalm 61:1-4)

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. (Psalm 62:1-2)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
