U.S. Citizen ~

John Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6 a.m.

While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking,

he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN PHILIPPINES) .

He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA),

designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE)

and tennis shoes (MADE IN VIETNAM).

After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA),

Then he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today.

After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA),

He got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY)

filled it with GAS (from Saudi Arabia)

and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.

At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his computer (MADE IN MALAYSIA),

John decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL)

poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE)

and turned on his TV (MADE IN KOREA),

and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA.

AND NOW HE'S HOPING HE CAN GET HELP FROM A

PRESIDENT MADE IN KENYA.

I'm also unsure of the point in this one....and what does President Obama being "made in Kenya" have anything to do with it?

I've heard a different version of this before but it was more in a joke form and for British people:

Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then on the way home grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab, to sit on a Swedish sofa and watch American shows on a Japanese TV and most of all being suspicious of anything Foreign.

The funny thing is I don't think its ever been true that the only products available to purchase were American made. Imports aren't a new innovation after all - they've been around for a good few hundred years :P

seems a bit ethnocetnric thread to me

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Try thousands. Traders were moving goods between the middle east and india before christ.

Yeah but the US wasn't around a few thousand years ago for someone to take the attitude that imports suck and that everything you buy must be American-made.
