The VAWA act does not apply here. English Muffin is correct that VAWA does not apply to AOS but rather ROC.

That is not what I said at all. VAWA may very well apply here and it can be used for AOS.

I'm trying to talk to him, so far he's sticking by what he said before. His parents got involved though and they are on my side. I'm praying that we can solve this. I still love my husband very much and I'm willing to do anything to save our marriage, as I said - we didn't have any problems prior to his behavior change. Honestly, I think he's hanging out with the wrong crowd. I just hope he wakes up on time...

Thank you for your insight, everyone. If you guys have any advices, keep them coming. I appreciate every single post.

Just don't sign in any document that he is offering you. To me, this is a very strange situation, maybe I am not well-oriented to other cases where to completely in-love couple will end up like this. Seems nonsense to me, at any rate just hang-on to the slim hope that he will change his mind. I hope he will not resort to force you to sign the documents. Maybe you can talk to the family (you said they are on your side). Who knows that will help. There's no harm in trying.

Thank you, everyone!

He did change his mind, I did not sign anything and we're going to the interview tomorrow. Our problems (or should I say, his problems) are far from being resolved, but after tomorrow I hope I'll be able to actively try to resolve all the issues there might be. It seems that it's mainly the wrong crowd he's been hanging out with. I hope that changing jobs and new friends will help the situation. Please, keep us in your prayers. I love my husband very much and I want to be happy again. :)
