Who would've thought the Ev1 could've saved GM if they wouldn't had killed it huh?

They must be slamming their heads against the wall now...good they deserve it.

One industry official said that each EV1 cost the company about US$80,000,[citation needed] including research, development and other associated costs.

448 million bucks to add a transistor, a battery, and an electric motor to a mini-van? They already have an up to date empty plant in Kenosha, WI with a bunch of skilled workers drawing unemployment checks, why do they need yet another plant?

Hybrids are worthless anyway up here, batteries are useless in sub zero temperatures, if they want a new plant, should build in the earthquake zone in California.

Perhaps you should have applied for the CEO position?

That's kind of what happens when it takes weeks to build just one car, right? I would think that that cost would go down a lot once they started mass producing them.

I could be totally wrong though. god knows I've misunderstood things before.

Hate to think about all the stuff I have that is over 25 years old, even my washer and dryer that are still functioning very well, and some appliances that I got from my mom that is over 50 years old. Still have my original stereo set that I enjoy, plus some quality furniture. But when in comes to automobiles and computers, absolute junk and worthless after a couple of years.

In 1985 was seven different alternators and voltage regulators that covered 95% of the market, today, over 3,500, all different, but do exactly the same job, can say that about every component used in the construction of an automobile. Just constant change with little or no improvement, mostly all cheapened up to help the stockholders. That isn't progress, but as an engineer, you do as you are told, or they will find somebody else.
