I -751 question should I worry

My husband and I mailed in our I-751 in Jan 14 2009. To Vermont, We received extension letter and then Bio letter . Both had different EAC numbers. Also both said I-751.The first letter said after we received the BIO letter we would be able to track online. He had Bio's done and we have heard nothing since, We cannot look it up online or when we call the 1-800 number. Should I worry . We have a friend who filled same place one week after us and they have there's. Any adivce would be a help.This is a wonderful sight and a help to all. Thank you everyone.

I don't think you should worry, I also have received the extension letter and bio. letter, also two different EAC number. Use the number on the bio. letter to go to the website to track. It seems like the number on the extension letter is their internal number, I don't know what's the use, but for us, we use the number on the bio. letter to track.

By the way, what do you mean by "We have a friend who filled same place one week after us and they have there's"? Does that mean that you have a friend who filed on Jan09 already got their approval? Please let me know. Thanks!

7/8/2010 - LUD, at 2:32am, received text msg and e-mail for req. for add'l evidence being mailed out on July 6th, believe it's for the FP

7/12/2010 - Received FP notice in mail, scheduled for 8/2/2010

7/15/2010 - Walk in FP

7/22/2010 - Online status changed to "Case sent to local office for interview schedule"

7/27/2010 - Received interview letter for 8/23/2010

8/23/2010 - Passed interview, was informed that next oath date is 9/22/2010 and oath letter will come in the mail

9/3/2010 - Received oath letter in the mail for 9/22/2010

It says on my NOA to use the number from the biometric letter to track the case. Did you try that number?It should begin with CRI or something like that. I don't have the letter on hand. If you check the processing time for I-751 filed to Vermont, it appears that they are working on applications from 08/2008, so if you only filed in January, you don't need to worry.

05/14/2009 -- Green Card expired.

05/23/2009 --- Check cleared bank.

05/26/2009 -- Received NOA (NOA date May 15, 2009, guess they aren't deporting me).

05/29/2009- Biometrics Notice date

06/01/2009- Received Biometrics Letter

06/18/2009 - Biometrics

09/23/2009 - date of decision to approve (letter received), just waiting for card. No online updates whatsoever.

Or - it could be because you used an expired form (Happened to me) or didn't send the right amount of check or failed to mark the correct box (happened to a friend of mine) or any of other hundreds of reasons. Check the packet and you will know why it was sent back - no need to worry about the 'unknown'. Good Luck

I am not sure if the IO have expressed the concern about her package being send back to her. The IO's concern is about that she can't track her status online. No offense, perhaps you're reading multiple threads at the same time?

For some people the tracking never works... there doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason why.

JasmineLily is correct as usual - use the number on the Bio letter for tracking, it may update in a few weeks or so. Better to do the 'portfolio' option and log into the site each time, not just entering the case number in the little box. You can also call the FBI to make sure the prints were sent to USCIS without any issue to ease your doubts. Their number is 304-625 5590. They can't tell you anything about your case, just that the prints were successfully transmitted back to USCIS, so you'll know there were no issues with the biometrics.

Hope this helps! It's a long wait, so try not to get too fraught at the beginning... (F)
