Is H1 valid if EAD under AOS is issued?

hi,

i am currently on H1B and have applied for AOS, EAD and AP.

Once I get my EAD, do i "HAVE" to work on EAD or can I continue to work on H1B?

What are the pros and cons if i decide to use any one of them?

If your H1B is valid then yes you can continue to use it for work authorization and to enter and leave the country without need of AP.

The EAD means that if you lose your H1B status, then you can still work in the United States (eg. you get laid off or leave your employer who is sponsoring the H1B).

However, if you lose your H1B status, then remember that you will not be able to use it to re-enter the USA. If you are planning a trip abroad, then until your AOS is complete, then you will require Advance Parole (AP).
