I recently sent my package to the Chicago lockbox, consisting of a I-130, I-485 and I-765. I've got NOA1s for these but I'm a bit confused about where the I-130 gets processed. I received a letter from USCIS addressed in MO (I assume the NBC) about the I-130 NOA, but on their website they don't list processing times for the I-130 for the NBC.

So how do I know where its being processed, or what the current expected processing date is?

dr_lha,

Interesting question. In your situation I believe that the I-130 and I-485 will be processed together, that may be why the NBC does not show a processing date for I-130. (For other situations I-130 is processed by the 4 regional SCs, or by a consulate or USCIS office overseas.) And I further believe that the NBC doesn't show a processing date for I-485 because processing of I-485 is not completed at the NBC.

I submitted I-130 and I-485 concurrently to the NBC for my K4 stepson (I don't recommend doing this today), I'll have to take a look for my Approval Notice to see where it came from but I suspect that it must have been the NBC.

In any event it really doesn't matter much where or when the I-130 is processed - it will have been processed by the time the I-485 is completed, and that's the goal you have.

I got my NOA1 for the I-485 today in the mail and I notice that they had assigned me an Alien number. I thought this wasn't assigned until the I-130 was processed. Still thanks for the info the the fact that these get processed together now.
