How many bank accounts are enough? I have read here that also a letter from the bank will do. We have accounts in 2 different banks, wondering if we should send everything or just one checking and one savings from one bank and a letter from the other bank. We are going to file this week. They are interested in seeing not just that you have comingled assets but that these extend throughout the period of your marriage, so what we did is we sent bank statements from each quarter for each of our accounts, with one from each year being the full statement, and the others just being the summary of the statements that still showed both of our names. The bank letter is good but you may wish to support it with examples of statements as well. You can also use statements to show information you would like to hghlight - ie, that both of your paycheques are automatically deposited to the same account, that the mortgage payment for the house comes out of the same joint account, etc. I highlighted those items on the statements we sent as well. We did it a little differently - I sent three statements from the banks, crdit cards, utility etc. - one from the current month; one a year ago and another two years ago - to show continuity. Just the monthly statements - nothing special. Good Luck
